TEKTON 6-point sockets are ideal for working with hex-shaped fasteners. They’re designed to grip the sides and not the corners of the fastener heads, which prevents round-off. The large, die-stamped markings are permanently impressed into the material and optimized for readability. A mirror chrome-plated finish protects against corrosion and easily wipes clean. Included with the set is a sturdy, well-marked case to keep the sockets securely organized.
- 6-point socket opening provides an ideal, exact fit for hex-shaped fastener heads
- Socket geometry is designed to apply force to flat sides of fasteners and not the corners, preventing round-off
- Standard-length socket is relatively versatile and suitable for a wide range of applications
- Extra-large die-stamped size markings are easy to read and can’t wear off
- Polished, chrome-plated finish easily wipes clean and is highly resistant to corrosion
- Four detent grooves provide a secure connection with the drive tool
- Beveled inner rim of the socket opening helps guide it smoothly onto fasteners

Best tools ever!!! Snap on quality at craftsman price. My son broke the head of the break over (3/8 drive with pipe on it, 1″ socket on a skid steer tire, he didn’t realize it was left hand thread. bad idea! Not the tools fault at all!) Took a pic sent it and had new one 2 days later express priority mail, quicker than waiting on the tool truck, did not have to mail the old.one back.. Just bought Tekton wrenches they are AMAZING also. I have used them where I should have used lime wrenches and the nut came off..

OUTSTANDING! I love the set. I am a all around handyman and shade tree mechanic and I have used this set several times since purchased. I like that it has metric and ASE short and deep well sockets and the item that sold me over the top was the 1/4″ slot in the top of the screw driver handle, that was a must and has been used several times. Did I say I love the set, I know I did but, I just had to do it again.

I’m thrilled with this Tekton socket and wrench set. To start with it comes in a very nice sturdy case which secures all contents very well. Being large, it is a bit heavy but that’s to be expected. The sockets are awesome. All hex which in my opinion are better than the round ones. Very sturdy with a nice chrome finish. This set has everything from small to very large sockets, extensions, comes with a massive wrench bar with an angled swivel adapter. All 3/8 inch. It also comes with a nice, fairly large, flat head socket wrench that has very smooth operation and fine incremental ratcheting, as well as a couple of nice long extensions. Overall a very nice tool set I will use for many many years. All pieces (74) are well marked with etching.

Whether you buy them individually or together, these two sets are the best bang for your buck. I found I kept moving my “junkyard” socket set I pieced together a few years ago between the house and my garden shed more and more often, so when I looked into piecing together another set, I found that it was cheaper to just get these sets, especially since I use 1/4″ and 3/8″ 99% of the time anyway. What I really like is that these are sockets only, no fillers, and don’t skip sizes, too many sets may skip sizes or have one size in standard depth and skip that size in deep while including one in deep that was skipped in standard, and to add on those skipped sizes later would negate the “savings”, especially since the cases would not allow storage of those added sockets, etc., although I don’t mind “filler” if it adds value and only after all the basics are covered. Although the 1/4″ set does “skip” the largest size 1/4″ drive sockets that Tekton makes (15mm in both standard and deep) there are no skipped sizes between the smallest size and the largest size included in this set. The 1/4″ set does have a nice large “parts tray” that can be used for storing other tools (like if I decide to add the 15 mm sockets just for the sake of completeness). One thing that was amiss with the 1/4″ set was that the bit holder had somehow fallen into the recess under the deep sockets in the bottom of the case. I am not sure if this was deliberately placed there before sealing the case up in the factory or if it somehow happened during shipping (the case was in a box that was tight to the case, inside the case was cardboard between the top and bottom of the case to keep everything from moving, so I suspect it was done at the factory). The sockets in the top part of the case are solidly held in while the sockets int eh bottom of the case are just resting in the recesses, so keep that in mind if you move the case around while it is opened. The 3/8″ is truly a “no skip” set, when it comes to standard, 6 point sockets. There are no “special” sockets, like spark plug sockets included. Unfortunately, the 3/8″ case does not have a “parts tray” like the 1/4″ set case. The 3/8″ case does not hold any sockets in, they are resting in the recesses, only the ratchet, breaker bar and accessories are held securely, so like the 1/4″ set, use caution if you have the case open while moving it around. I gave both sets the “shake test” while both were closed and everything stayed in place. One point to mention, the 3/8″ breaker bar is VERY heavy duty, I would say its likely the same bar used for 1/2″ because the difference in diameter between the handle of the ratchet and the BB is noticeable. I don’t normally use a 3/8″ BB, but those I have seen tend to be similar in dimension to the associated ratchet. Even the 3/8″ square drive on the BB head is almost comical how small it is compared to the head. Both ratchets have very compact heads in that they are not as wide as other brands and they are thinner than most others I have. Don’t be put off, there’s a Youtube video that shows that the 3/8″ ratchet can take the same torque as a late model Snap On. Tekton, if you read this review some enhancements for the cases: the 1/4″ set case, make the parts tray magnetic and offer accessories to take advantage of that magnetic bottom and fit in it, such as bit holders so I can add bits and store them in the case, it would be best to make the holder so that it only takes up 1/2 the parts tray so owners can either get two and fill up the parts tray with bits or allow owners to add the “missing” 15mm sockets. For the 3/8″ case, carve out a parts holder in the top section of the case and also make it magnetic. I understand the top of the case needs to be “solid” so that the sockets don’t move around with the top closed, but the parts tray could have a removable cover over it. This parts tray would allow me to store sparkplug sockets with the set since I use this when I work on small engines. Also, I am concerned about the molded cut outs for the ratchets in both cases. If you change ratchets at some point in the future and I have to warranty a ratchet out after that, because the case is molded so close to the ratchet heads, I am concerned I will have to cut out around the head for replacement ratchets. It would have been nice to had the case around the head be a little more open to allow for variations in future ratchet designs.
