The black Tether Tools TetherPro USB 2.0 Type-A to 5-Pin Mini-USB Cable is 3′ long and has gold-plated connectors to provide consistent and reliable conductivity as well as corrosion resistance. The ends of this cable feature a standard USB Type-A male connector and the other side is outfitted with a 5-pin mini-B male plug, which is compatible with most digital cameras.
To deliver data at speeds up to 480 Mb/s, Tether Tools has equipped this cable with USB 2.0 technology. It sports a reinforced Ferrite core that filters out signal noise and reduces transmission errors. In addition, the full-lined shielding feature protects the signal against external interference.

We are a busy commercial studio and have 10-20 cameras tethered and connected every day, Canon, Nikon, PhaseOne and Sony. The TetherTools cables have been far and away the most reliable, toughest, longest lasting we’ve dealt with, including those boxed with the cameras by the manufacturers. When I first saw this cable, I thought it was just another USB cable. But it is not! It has a strong construction, ideal for connecting your camera to any laptop with USB port. I use with my Canon T6i and Adobe Lr. It works perfectly. Also, I bought a Jerkstopper to avoid any malfunction of the USB cable, either the connection in the USB port or in the camera. The length is perfect for most situations in-studio where you may need an extra space between the camera and the computer.

I was having problems tethering my Nikon to my laptop. I kept losing the connection. I then bought the Nikon brand cable which helped. I then found this and a used longer one (one for D750 and one for D610) and both worked like a charm. Never lost a connection again.

i use an external wifi card from alfa industries to connect, this is the cable i use and i must say wifi capabilities are great no matter what length the cable is … if you use a cheap cable then shortest will prevent loss of wifi but that means using a 3 inch cable … but not with tetherpro no matter how long it is wifi will BE 100% …

15 feet length is useful for teathered camera action; takes little time to reproduce the image on my mac Book pro. Bright orange color is handy to locate it on the floor in studio. …. WT 5A might be better option.

I bought this as a backup cord. The high visibility makes it my #1 choice with the standard Canon black one as the backup after years of solid use. It was cheaper than the Canon The TT cord needed a little trimming to fit the Canon 1Dx cord keeper snap in thing. I prefer Canon’s snap in cord accessory that to the TT jerk-stopper. Good quality cord.
