The black Tether Tools TetherPro USB 2.0 Type-A to 5-Pin Mini-USB Cable is 15′ long and has gold-plated connectors to provide consistent and reliable conductivity as well as corrosion resistance. The ends of this cable feature a standard USB Type-A male connector and the other side is outfitted with a 5-pin mini-B male plug, which is compatible with most digital cameras.
To deliver data at speeds up to 480 Mb/s, Tether Tools has equipped this cable with USB 2.0 technology. It sports a reinforced Ferrite core that filters out signal noise and reduces transmission errors. In addition, the full-lined shielding feature protects the signal against external interference.

It’s a cable…it worked. I would give it 5 starts except several times I had to reboot my laptop. Of course this could be a problem with the laptop(Mac book pro), Lightroom(tethered capture) or the camera(D7000). No way to tell.

When I first saw this cable, I thought it was just another USB cable. But it is not! It has a strong construction, ideal for connecting your camera to any laptop with USB port. I use with my Canon T6i and Adobe Lr. It works perfectly. Also, I bought a Jerkstopper to avoid any malfunction of the USB cable, either the connection in the USB port or in the camera. The length is perfect for most situations in-studio where you may need an extra space between the camera and the computer.

I’ve been an assistant to several pro photographers in my local area for a few years now and this is their go- to tether cable for Nikon, Canon, Hasselblad and Phase One medium format digital backs. The 15′ length responds relativley fast without having to use a booster and allowing plenty of moving space from your computer. The product works fine for tethering the camera to laptop or when downloading the photographs from the camera. The orange color makes it easy to spot in a busy shoot, however I would recommend using a black wire when shooting a reflective subject.
