The orange Tether Tools TetherPro USB 2.0 Type-A to 5-Pin Mini-USB Cable is 15′ long and has gold-plated connectors to provide consistent and reliable conductivity as well as corrosion resistance. The ends of this cable feature a standard USB Type-A male connector and the other side is outfitted with a 5-pin mini-B male plug, which is compatible with most digital cameras.
To deliver data at speeds up to 480 Mb/s, Tether Tools has equipped this cable with USB 2.0 technology. It sports a reinforced Ferrite core that filters out signal noise and reduces transmission errors. In addition, the full-lined shielding feature protects the signal against external interference.

When I first saw this cable, I thought it was just another USB cable. But it is not! It has a strong construction, ideal for connecting your camera to any laptop with USB port. I use with my Canon T6i and Adobe Lr. It works perfectly. Also, I bought a Jerkstopper to avoid any malfunction of the USB cable, either the connection in the USB port or in the camera. The length is perfect for most situations in-studio where you may need an extra space between the camera and the computer.

I use the TetherPro USB 2.0 A Male to Mini-B 5-Pin Gold Plated cable to tether my Nikon D700 to Lightroom both at my studio and on location, and it has yet to loose connection or fail me on the job. It’s bright orange color keeps me, my assistants or clients from tripping over it and causing a big time accident.

I didn’t think I needed this, until I realized the number of times I walked around in the studio with my camera tethered and accidentally pulled out the USB cable I used or stepped on it. This item is bright orange so you always see it and can always find it.

This cable is very well made and uses quality components. I like the fact the cores are obviously multi-stranded and laid in a way that makes the cable very flexible so there are no annoying kinks and bends when it is in use. The plugs feel secure and solid and the cable works perfectly as far as tethering my camera to my computer. Only four stars because I just don’t see why it has to be so expensive. Some products are very specific to the task for which they are designed, which obviously means they fill a niche and can command a higher price. While the cable is well constructed of quality components none of them are unique and its use is not particularly esoteric.
