I use this to tether my 5D Mark IV to my Macbook Pro. Works like a charm!

Like the fact the cable does not put unequal stress on the camera connector due to the right-angle connector on the cable. Did not see any signal loss when connected to MacBook Pro. Worked great to enable use of the laptop to control my D850.

This is a high quality cable that I use to tether a Nikon D810 to a computer with a Windows based O S. It works without a problem.

Ordered USB 3.0 Tether Tool cable for my Nikon cameras (D-850-D-810) during the Covid-19 quarantine. Delivery time was great under the circumstance. Began using it same day to download large files to a 1 T-byte SSD drive on my i7 laptop. Downloads were quick and the Tether Tool cable stayed had a snug and secure feeling when attached to either camera. Tried sending photos directly into Lightroom (9.2) and reasonable send to screen time. Cable worked well in other tether aware applications. Will buy one more to keep at two locations. Again, great product, great service.

IT WORKS

Bought this for camera control software and tethering for a Nikon D810. Works flawlessly, but a bit pricey. Having had issues with cheap cables in the past, went with this one and am not disappointed. Would be five stars if price were a bit lower…

An essential component in my work flow. Just long enough. The only caution I would offer is, if you live or work in a part o the world where easy access to this type of gear is difficult or slow, I would recommend purchasing several at a time. The big connector (USB A-type) seems to fail all to often and usually at the worst time. Having a backup is key. I would give it four or five stars but for the frailty of that connector.

So far I’ve have nothing but issues with this cable. After trying to use it with Reikan Focal, I was getting error after error after error. I thought it was either Focal or the camera. I contact Reikan with the error message details and it pointed to a USB connectivity issue. Sure enough, I tried two other USB 3.0 cables and Focal worked without a single error. I even tried hooking up one of these cheepier USB 3.0 cables with an old USB 2.0 extender I’ve had laying around for ten years worked perfectly (i.e., length wasn’t the issue either). Getting a replacement cable, but don’t have high hopes.

bought this to replace the cord on my SSD. Might be overkill but it’s definitely better built that most other USB 3.0s

Yes, the orange colour makes one look legit but until they have fixed those loose issues / click-lock hooks on the connector, please do yourself a favour and use the manufacturer’s cable. I got myself the 5m Canon cable and my assistants been saying I’m a much calmer person since.

Great for tethering. Cord easy to see.

This is just what I needed. The connection from my D5 to my computer is reliable and fast. The length is good for close to computer transfers as well as positioning the computer further away during studio work.

It’s been touch and go tethering with this and a 5dsr. Seems better than the other brand that I tried, but still not 100%. Signal seems to drop out here and there. Worth noting that many people consider this a problem with the computer having underpowered usb ports, so not completely sure I can peg this 100% on any single piece of kit.

I use this with my MacBook Pro 15 and Nikon D810 on Capture One software. Just plug and shoot…great to finally be shooting tethered in the studio!

Extremely well made. Use it for my Lacie external which I take with me

Straight up doesn’t work. Total waste of money.

This cable works fine until the plug to the camera simply gives in to the law of gravity. Don’t even bother buying this cable without a jerk stopper, or buy the one with the right-angle feature.
Kurtis Goldner (verified owner) –
Actually would give it 3.5 stars if I could. Cable works as it should and feels nicely made BUT the USB connector on the computer side is much looser than I would like to be honest. With a USB drive or cable for external drive, the USB cable fits snug. This one is very wobbly and just feels like it will easily fall out – even if you have the lock to stop it from being yanked out.

A must have for any studio shooting, and also very useful on location.

works well. Like that it is orange and visible. The right angle is bonus.
