Works great. No problems.
Damaris Bruen (verified owner) –
Very stable. Good connectors on both ends. I use it with a jerk stop, so I’m comfortable regarding the safety of the camera’s USB port.

Recently started shooting product and models tethered to my iMac and wanted to get a reliable fast cable. Quality is perfect and it seems fast even without a booster cable. I use this with an additional extension. Very pleased so far.
Mellie Johnston (verified owner) –
This cable worked seamlessly, not a single time was there a communication problem from the camera to the camera. The Photo Event was a great success largely in part because of the quality of the interface cable.

Good.

I like the orange. Like a hunters vest it’s easy to see in a room full of people moving about. The cord is heavy gauge and plugs in very securely.

IT WORKS

Great cables… like the orange color when you have people in the shoot who are clutz’s in the studio Also is great whenb you want to shoot to your laptop in remote locations

Overall this cable works great, it does the job it’s meant for. But one thing I and many other photographers struggle with is shooting tethered vertically with arca-type L-brackets. Previously I used this cable with my Nikon D800 and Kirk L-bracket, which I was able to get away with adjusting the plate extended out a little on the slotted screw mount. Now though, I recently upgraded to the D850 and bought the ultralight RRS plate, which doesn’t have the same slotting as Kirk plates. So now I either need to buy the Kirk D850 plate instead, or buy a mount-extension + new straight connector cable (since the right-angle won’t work with the extension). Ultimately I really just wish the right angle connector on this cable had just a little lower profile so that it would fit perfectly under my RRS plate. I guess it’s just too much to ask for the perfect marrying of cable and plate systems for the best vertical tethered shooting setup.

Quality. Great quality.

So far it’s been a reliable cable, providing a much more useful length than the tiny one that came with my Nikon D810. No issues shooting with it so far. Definitely get the JerkStopper from Tether Tools to use with this, it holds the cord in the camera and has been a lifesaver. Very impressed with Tether Tools as a brand so far, this cable only bolsters my opinion of them.

I have used in the past a Usb 2.o version and it works great. Purchasing new camera that made the change to Usb 3.0 and so the need to update my cable. I use Lightroom to tether my camera while on location and in the studio.
