Ordered USB 3.0 Tether Tool cable for my Nikon cameras (D-850-D-810) during the Covid-19 quarantine. Delivery time was great under the circumstance. Began using it same day to download large files to a 1 T-byte SSD drive on my i7 laptop. Downloads were quick and the Tether Tool cable stayed had a snug and secure feeling when attached to either camera. Tried sending photos directly into Lightroom (9.2) and reasonable send to screen time. Cable worked well in other tether aware applications. Will buy one more to keep at two locations. Again, great product, great service.

This is a solid cable. No issues and RAW files from my D810 transferred quickly to our 15 MacBook Pro. Be sure to have the latest firmware update on your camera before using. I would recommend the Jerkstopper to take the strain off the cable where it connects to the camera.

Did my first studio shoot of a five person local band, yesterday. As convenient as tethering is there are a lot of cables over which someone can stumble. This cord seemed to be the one ring that ruled them all: it gave loud notice to watch your step. It was a bit stiff so while this may make it durable, I did need to twist it to insert it correctly. Not a huge issue but I kept wondering what torque I was putting on that delicate USB port on the d810.

The connection seems a little loose and doesn’t work most of the time. I switched to the Canon cord and it works fine! Very disappointed in this purchase and would like to return it but too much time has passed.

I do love TetherTools products as they are incredibly well made. Be aware though that the Pentax 645Z (apparently) has the USB port facing the opposite direction of many/most cameras. This cable will go UP rather than down when plugged in, so it will either make a u-turn (and put undue stress on the connector) or it will have to go over the camera and down the right side.

I bought this figuring it was the best, and it worked fllawlessly for 9 months. Unfortunately now it disconnects from computer and has trouble reconnecting. Tether tools only replaces within 90 days so I’ll have to buy a new one.
