I use this to tether my 5D Mark IV to my Macbook Pro. Works like a charm!

Great work very well

But you’ll have to buy a Tether Tools JerkStopper Camera Support, otherwise the cable will fall out the slot

I have been buying tether tools products for years. This is a quality cord. Heavy duty for either studio work or on location. Pairs well with the tether block.

Tethered a Nikon D800E to a MacBook Pro with SSHD and it worked as expected with Lightroom 5 and work as expected.

I bought this figuring it was the best, and it worked fllawlessly for 9 months. Unfortunately now it disconnects from computer and has trouble reconnecting. Tether tools only replaces within 90 days so I’ll have to buy a new one.

Love the length. Love the color. Tethered my D810 rather nicely. At 15ft you might also need a tether booster but maybe give it a whirl first without one.

Straight up doesn’t work. Total waste of money.

I have gone through more straight away tethering cables, ultimately damaging the internal pins due to rough studio use. I switched to the right angle connector combined with tether tools jerk protector that I screw into the bottom of my camera. No more disconnects during a tethered session. Love it !!

This product works precisely as described and for tethering in the studio or photo shooting environment. I like the orange color as it visually cues to location and placement and helps to prevent tripping over cable. I recommend this product highly for safety and convenience.

bought this to replace the cord on my SSD. Might be overkill but it’s definitely better built that most other USB 3.0s

Keeps loosing connection from the camera plug and disconnecting on a 5DiV. at first i thought it was my Laptop with issues but its not, the original Tether cable that came with the camera works just fine. Even tried it from a WD 4TB My Book for Mac to my IMAC to see if it would run iTunes. Doesn’t recognize the drive. Its more cost effective to purchase a second than return for a refund. Lets see where we go from there.!

This makes thethered shooting so much easier. A must have for me from now on!

I bought two of these from a local retailer. The first went bad within a few days. The second, after only a few months of use, no longer has enough tension to stay plugged into the port of my D810, despite using Tethertools connectors, which are another story unto themselves. I can no longer use it reliably in the studio, much less on location, and the premium prices are simply unjustified. As someone that shoots tethered numerous times a week in a professional environment, I will say that there is a HUGE opportunity in figuring out a better solution. My guess is that it’s WiFi. I’d rather have three less expensive, though highly rated ones on-hand, and let these stiff and spendy cables fade from relevance.

Contrary to the TetherTools website, this cable will go UP if you plug it into a Pentax 645Z. Apparently all other cameras with this connector have it facing the opposite direction, so that the cable will indeed hang down. But the Pentax seems to have reversed this. Otherwise it’s probably a great cable for tethering!
