By far this is the best lawnmower I have ever owned. I had to send my very old Toro to the graveyard and thought I would miss it. With the easy start and Personal Pace feature I look forward to cutting the grass. 😉

Starts easy, bagging system is clumsy getting off but picks up the clippings niceOwners manual is very poor quality print (similar to a newspaper) should be much better quality with larger type and much easier to find info needed

We bought this mower for the smaller fenced area of our yard and have been very pleased. It handles easily (we’re older and retired, so that’s critical), cleans up without a problem and then folds up so it doesn’t take up much space in the garage. Overall, we’re very pleased!

Never had a self-propelled mower before and was nervous about buying one and being able to mow around objects, like trees. I always press down on the handle, and move the mower around the object, cutting as i go in a tight circle. How could I do that with a rear-wheel propelled mower? I found these pro’s and con’s. Glad I bought the mower The Personal Pace makes it easy to mow around objects. Just back off on the pace and use muscle power to get around and up close to objects. Now I’m totally happy with the self-propelled feature. Cut is nice. Don’t have any stray pieces of long grass sticking up. The blade gets them all. The storage feature is nice. Makes it easy to fit into my shed. Not sure where it would fit if it did not have the Smartstow feature. Used the mulch, bag, and side discharge options. The con for this mower is the bag feature stinks. Lots of grass gets out of the bag on the right side (right side as you walk behind). Just falls down by the rear wheel so you have a strip of cut grass on the ground on each pass. Looks terrible. Try this to make it better – use some thin wire (I used 24 ga) and secure the right side of the bag to the right bag support. Use thin wire so it passes through the bag without making a whole. Wrap it tight so the black bag edge overlays the metal support and presses tight to the mower body when the bag is installed. This took care of about 80% of the dropped grass. Besides the bagging problem as a con, the rest of the mower works good.

Disappointed that it doesn’t have a throttle. It is always at high throttle with no adjustment available. This is a problem when you are going over an area that may be not that grassy as the dirt/dust goes flying. Did not check to see if this mower had a throttle before I bought it because all of our previous lawn mowers had throttles, so I just assumed that this one did as well.

I replaced my old Personal Pace mower with this new one. Even though I live in the city, I have a large, uneven yard and this is SO EASY to push. It is also very easy to start.

It has made this task easier. I love the propulsion system, the weight of the machine and the features it has. However, from the first day I feel that sometimes you want to turn off when the blade touches a difficult area. I don’t know if it’s the gasoline I’m using or if it’s something with the carburator. It is only 3 weeks old and I am concerned that I will have to take it to service. If anyone has had the same concern, please let me know.

Purchased this gas mower for my 5,000sf yard just over a month ago and am happy with the features of this mower, especially the single pull starting I have gotten the three times I have used the mower. The personal pace is a great feature but can force mowing at a faster pace than desired so you have to be careful on slopped surfaces. Would like to see dual wheel adjustments for front and back wheels.

I just retired my 1989 Toro 21″ Self Propelled Rear Bagger. My 1989 Toro with a Suzuki engine still starts on the first pull and works fine, but I was looking for better maneuverability, better mulching capabilities, a quieter engine and lighter weight. This new Toro 22″ SMARTSTOW, Self – Propelled, High Wheel with Personal Pace hits all the marks.I researched all of the top competitors to Toro and, for the money, Toro had better features and better build quality and a much nicer looking product.

Bought in May 2020 to replace a Personal Pace Toro that I purchase in 2010. Never a problem with Toro equipment. Highly recommended mower.

I did some research before buying. It’s an amazing mower I’m so glad I purchased. It’s started the first pull every time even after washing it down with hose .

Bought it two weeks ago and is really making a difference. We tried various cleaning options including a steamer for the kitchen tile. This is great.

I like the machine. It is easy to operate. Rear wheel drive, with large wheels for hill terrain. Storage is a key feature too! Starts on first pull. Even after sitting in storage all winter. Note: Small issue with hill terrain. Ensure you have a full take of fuel. When mowing a hillside, going side-to-side, if you hit a bump or two, the mower tends to go into a stall like mode. (Might be a safety feature.) I found that operating the machine with a full tank of fuel eliminates the issue somewhat. When storing the mower, pay attention to fuel fill max line for upright (ez-storage), or your fuel will spill out.

I like the way the mower cuts, however the handle does not adjust to be higher and the speed is not easy to control. I love the way it folds to save space for storage
