I was frustrated the first day as grass was too long, and I had it set too short and stalled and couldn’t restart it. After I figured out it was the handler and not the machine, everything has been perfect the next day and ever since! If you like to jog while mowing your grass, have the setting set to full and you can do that. If you like a nice leisurely walk behind, only open it half way.For $299.99 it’s an excellent mower.

Easy to start and use and does a great job mowing the lawn. I love it!

Lawn mower is great and easy assembly. Only one annoying issue is that there is a gap between the mulch cover/flap not sure what you call it and the bag in which it collects grass. So all the grass flies outside. Bad design.

This lawn mower is great! It has all the power you will need and will not rumble and wake the entire neighborhood. Your kids won’t even complain about doing yardwork anymore! Toro is a dependable brand so you can expect to have this bad boy around for years and years to come!

I got this Toro 21″ Variable Speed Gas Lawnmower about two weeks ago and it has really made yardwork much easier. The directions are simple and it only takes a few minutes to put together. The engine starts on the first pull, runs smooth and it’s easy to adjust the height for a perfect cut. I have a big yard and a lot of trees, so there’s grass and leafs everywhere. This Toro lawnmower is self propelled and pretty much drives itself, cutting mowing time in half. I love that I don’t have to worry about raking the leafs before I mow, it picks those up with the grass trimmings. Not only does it work great leaving a nice even cut, it looks great too!!

As I’m getting older it is getting harder to push the old heavy lawnmower around the yard. This TORO is by far a lot lighter then your average every day lawnmower. They have taken quite a few of the original pieces that would be a metal of some sort and changed them to an industrial strength plastic where possible. This has lightened the lawnmower significantly. One of the things I love the most is that you can adjust the wheels in 1/4″ increments. I like to cut my grass at 2 3/4″ tall and I can set that exactly with the two levers that adjust both the front and back wheels with a simple flip of the adjustment arm. You no longer have to adjust each wheel height independently. One thing that will take a little getting used to is there is no primer bulb or choke on this mower. You simply pull the starter cable to start the mower. I’m so used to pumping the primer bulb and setting the choke that this all seems odd to me. I guess technology is a wonderful thing. Another thing that is odd is the fact that you don’t have to change the oil in this mower. You simply top it off when the level is low using their “top it off premium engine oil”. The wheels on the mower seem to grab fairly well while mowing. They are a good size and allow you to turn the mower easily. I also like that this mower is self propelled. It makes it a lot easier to push since my front lawn has a slope to it. I love that you can either bag or mulch your grass clippings. I’ve been a “bagger” all my life but once Spring arrives I’m going to try mulching to see how I like it and how the grass responds. I’m going to assume this Briggs & Stratton engine is going to be as reliable as my old mower. My last gas mower lasted 14 years and I only got rid of it because the deck finally rotted out on it. The old Briggs & Stratton motor was still going strong but it was time for a new mower. I did have one small defect on my mower and that was where the front right wheel was supposed to “click” into the plastic housing. It looked like someone tried to force the wheel arm into the housing and bent/deformed the plastic so I had to do a little surgery to get the wheel to click in. This took me several minutes to fix and looks like it probably happened on their assembly line. Other then the above defect this lawn mower is super easy to put together. It comes about 95% assembled and all you have to do is remove some plastic protective coverings, attach the handle and put the bag together. Once this is all done you just add the supplied oil to the proper level and put some gas in it and you are done. All in all it was super easy and now I hopefully have another lawnmower for 15 years to 20 years.

I needed to replace an older mower that I keep at my parent’s house to do their lawn. I chose this Toro model based on the reputation of Toro, the features listed and its size. Assembly was easy right out of the box. Its simply a matter of attaching the handle with 2 bolts, attaching the bag to the bag frame adding the provided oil and some fresh gas. The height is adjustable with 2 levers, one for the front wheels and one for the rear. The pull start attaches to the handle so its simple to pull and start. I tried the mower at my own home today during my final fall cleanup. It ran smoothly and has a pleasant walking speed. The bag pops right on and off and there are 2 handles on it to make emptying easy.i think this is a great choice for your average sized suburban lawn.

I love how easy the assemble went just attach the handle then the bag put quart oil and some gas then you are ready to go. Start on the first try. Has plenty of power. Excellent job on cutting the grass. You don’t have to change oil just check to see if it is low then add some. The only problem is that the bag as a small gap at the top some of the clippings come through. I

Works awesome, variable speed is great. Not real happy with the way the rear bag seals, some grass escapes around the seal. But overall it’s a great lawnmower! Sure wish it had a oil drain plug, I know you do not have to change the oil on this model but I like changing the oil, my last lawnmower lasted 45 years.

The mower was well built and I really liked the strong rear wheel drive.

this is a great lawn mower , it cuts my grass so perfect i dont have to go back over it and saves time , i also love that it has a bag so less clean up for my yard work, its easy to push lightweight and easy to store

I love this mower! I have always been a toro fan and this mower is definitely why. It is self propelled with plenty of power and it makes mowing even tall grass a breeze. My mower is a recycler so it feeds the lawn as it goes. Toro mowers, in my opinion, are build very well and this mower did not disappoint. Putting together this mower out of the box was so easy and went together well. Started up quickly and runs smoothly. I’ll probably never need another mower. Thanks Toro!

This is a very nice self propelled lawn mower that has many features such as the ability to bag grass cuttings with the included bag also you can just mulch the cuttings by removing the bag which closes the access door to the mower deck. It also does not require choking to start or pushing a rubber pump to put gas in the carburetor just pull the cord to start. The starting on this mower is great and does not take a lot of strength to pull the cord to start. The only thing that I don’t like is the speed of the mower, with the previous Toro mower that I had the mower moved according to your walking speed this one does not do that.

This is my first Toro product and will admit I am quite impressed with this brand! This gas powered lawn mower is powerful and it certainly delivered. It works awesome and gets the job done when my lawn requires mowing. The mower was self intuitive out of the box and user friendly. Maneuvering this machine was simple and was more lightweight than my previous mower. This mower provides clean cuts and doesn’t leave a trail of mess behind it. The variability in speed is a nice design feature as is the mulching capability. The bag is easy to clean and it’s volume is sufficient to hold my cut grass. Interestingly, I like that this mower doesn’t need oil changes however I’ve yet to use this frequently enough that one would be necessary yet. I also noticed it wasn’t as noisy as my previous mower.

Well packaged and nearly all assembled from the box this Toro Recycler 21-inch Briggs and Stratton Low Wheel Gasoline Operate Walk behind and Self-Propelled Lawn Mower with Bagger. Just by using two screw clamps for attaching the handle, and then attaching the drive handle to operate the self-propelled cable which also you attach. And lastly adding the quart of 30 weight oil which was also provided with this unit and of course regular gasoline to the tank. The entire operation taking less than 20 minutes. I asked the wife to show the ease of movement of the self-propelled power of this mower and to her delight she saw how easy it was going to be in the future for me to get out and cut the grass. And in the fall, such as right now mulch up the leaves that have fallen in our yard. This is my first self-propelled walk behind lawn mower. I have a 6-year-old Briggs and Stratton purchased also at Home Depot that runs great and still starts on the first or second pull. But is not self-propelled. I am getting up in years and my property takes between 2-3 hours to cut and trim the grass so every little extra convenience I really appreciate. This Lawn mower I love and will use it with ease. The bagger is still designed the same way and works great to quickly empty the debris and attach it again quickly and get the job done. It has adjustable height lever to quickly set to the desired grass length. Never needs an oil change but may require to add some from time to time. I recommend this lawn mower to everyone. I am not disappointed and I am sure you would not be either. Two green thumbs up.
