Great lawnmower overall, at least from what i have experienced the one time i have used it so far. The only downside i would say would be if using the bag, it needs to be emptied several times throughout mowing, which can be annoying to say the least.

This lawn mower is nicely built, easy to assemble, and easy to use. I thought it was a great idea to include the oil. It runs smoothly and has great traction. The manual instructions are clear and easy to follow. The cutter blades are very sharp so you get a nice, clean cut. The only issue we had was with the rear bag. It is a bit too tight and we had difficulty installing it. Nonetheless, this a huge upgrade from our previous lawn mower and we recommend it 100%.

This review is for the Toro Recycler 21 In. Rear Wheel Drive Self Propelled Lawn Mower with the 140cc Briggs and Stratton GTS (Guaranteed To Start) Engine, Model 21352. After receiving the mower I opened the carton to find an almost completely assembled mower. I only had to put in the bolts to attach the handle, slip in the starting/blade brake handle, slip the plastic clips over the clippings bag, and add oil then gas. This required no tools and was very simple. This mower is fairly light at 76 Lbs. but shows very good quality. The deck is a thick gauge of steel, the mower height adjustments are easy and you only have to adjust the front and rear from the right side of the deck. The adjuster handles both the right and left wheels at the same time. You have a choice of using the bagger or not. Simply leave the bagger off to “recycle” or mulch your clippings. If you choose to use the bagger then you should know that there is a small gap at the top of the bag/retainer joint where some debris will be blown out during mowing. The gap on my mower was about 1/8 inch and some but not a lot of clippings were ejected from it. This is a defect that should be addressed by Toro because other reviewers have already mentioned it. For me it wasn’t any problem because I always mulch and don’t use the bag. I was very impressed with the Briggs GTS engine. It starts very easily on the first or second pull with surprisingly little effort. There is no throttle, no manual choke and the engine starts and runs at one preset speed. To start you squeeze the start/blade brake handle and pull the starter rope. Very easy and simple. To stop the engine and mower blade you just let the handle go. I found that the engine had lots of power to cut taller grass without bogging down. This is a self-propelled mower with rear wheel drive which is what I like. But I found that this mower with its preset one speed engine caused the mower to move along at considerably higher speed than my old legs like when the self-propel handle was grasped completely. I felt like I was having to jog to keep up with it. Yes, the mower’s speed is variable by partially grasping the lever closed but it was difficult to maintain the partial grasp while walking and negotiating small bumps in the yard. It would lurch forward as my grasp of the lever changed. Maybe some practice will help improve that. This mower’s engine also has a “never change oil” feature that may appeal to some owners. You just add oil when it needs it. Just be sure to check it often. The engine manual that comes with mower says you don’t have to change oil but it’s okay to change it if you want. I’m “old school” and I know what dirty oil does for engine life … it shortens it. I’m going to change mine when it looks dirty or at least every other year. It’s easy to check the oil. This engine has a nice metal dipstick. One last tiny complaint is that the mower comes with a poorly done quick start guide (no written descriptions) but no owner’s/operators manual. I finally found that Toro says that you can log onto their website and download the manual. Overall I rate this Toro mower as good to very good but not excellent. I recommend it if you are willing to accept the small problems.

After using this lawn mower for the past couple weeks I feel like I can confidently say that it is great. This mower is every homeowners dream come true. It is very easy and simple to use. It is very low maintenance to take care of. You don’t have to worry about motor oil changes, just add oil. The lawn mower has great turning abilities and is easy to handle. I love how user friendly it is. Everytime I cut my grass I feel like it gives me a nice clean cut. My lawn has never looked better. The one thing that has really stood out to me is that it cuts the grass great the first time around. I have yet had to go back over the same spot which is great because it has cut down my time when mowing my grass. This lawn mower is easy to push and doesn’t seem to be overly heavy to me. If I had to say anything about its weight is that I feel it is light weight. The lawn mower is easy to start and easy to store. Which is always a plus in my book. Overall this lawn mower was designed well and designed for the homeowner in mind. I would highly recommend it for your yard maintenance.

You want to get a mower with confidence? Get yourself a TORO!I love Toro lawn mowers. They last so long you end up giving old ones away just so you have a good excuse to get a new one! Start with those Briggs and Stratton ‘always start’ engines! You won’t be pulling and pulling and pulling on that starter rope… because one pull starts them every time! That alone is quite amazing and a fabulous feature of Toro mowers. This is a mower and a recycler. Since Toro has come out with the function I usually only use the bag to pick up leaves in the Fall. The rest of the Summer I usually don’t use a bag, thus allowing the mower to go into ‘recycle mode’ meaning it cuts and recuts the grass. A huge time saver and actually a benefit for your lawn as well. This particular unit is a rear wheel drive self propelled version. I’ve reached the age where I wouldn’t consider getting a mower that WASN’T self-propelled and once you have one with that feature I’m sure you will agree. Hey, I don’t mind the walk, but I can do without the ‘push’! This is my first REAR wheel drive unit. For me, I’d have to say that front wheel drive or wheel wheel drive works about the same for me. It’s possible you might have a sloping yard where one or the other might work better for you, so keep that in mind. Bottom line, staright out of the box I know this unit will be perfect, will work for years – decades maybe – and as long as I keep it fueled will run forever. Oh, one extra quick note. This mower does NOT require that ‘initial oil change’ that we used to have to do with new mowers. You just fill it with oil (Toro 10-30 PROVIDED) and check the oil from time to time to see if it needs topped off. Fabulous!

Catcher bag does not seal properly allowing grass clipping to escape right into the operator of the lawn more. Terrible design. Very disappointed

The mower was easy to assemble. Started on the second pull. Ran well. Main issue was the poor design of the bag. It fails to seal to the back of the mower, so grass clippings and leaves blew over my arms, chest and face. I rigged a foam bar so I could finish mowing. Also the rear deck is angled rather than flat so when you remove the bag, loose clipping fell to the ground and made a mess. Also the vortex under the mower allowed many clippings to fly to the side rather than fill the bag. Overall a poor design from a company with so much experience with mowers.

This is an excellent mower for small to average size lawns. I am impressed with the speed and efficiency of this machine. I do not like to bag and the mulching blade does an excellent job of really getting the clippings down. I have had several rear and all wheel mowers in my lifetime. This one Is hands down the fastest. It took a fraction of the time it normally does to leave my lawn perfectly cut. The large rear wheels make lifting over exposed roots and the occasional missed branch a snap. The design is well balanced and not too heavy. The one to two pull with no prime start is really exciting. Also I have sensitive hands and the placement of the safety bar and rear wheel drive bar are such that I do not hurt when I am done mowing. I missed a few weeks due to the perpetual Florida rain, and the Toro had no problem returning my lawn to its former glory. I like the oil feature as well. no oil changes, just chek your levels and add as needed. That is a time saver for sure.

Toro is rated as the #1 lawn mower in America and I can vouch for that. I have used Toro lawn mowers for a number of years with an excellent history of reliability. What makes this Toro different than other brands is the reliability and the “NO CHANGE OIL” for the life of the mower. All that is required is to verify the oil level and if needed is to add oil if low. The other is the “RECYCLE CUTTING TECHNOLOGY” which feeds the lawn to get a greener healthier looking lawn by returning the fine clippings for nutrients. One of the drawbacks to every mower sold is the motor choking out due to wet thick lawn grass. The Briggs and Stratton 140cc engine has 5.5 foot pounds which is more than enough to continue cutting without choking out. Carries a 3 year guarantee to start and a 2 year full warranty. Made in the “GOOD OLD USA”.

I’m glad I decided to go with the Toro 21” cut. The features are great it has automatic when you pull up on the bar and it has a grass catcher to clean up the cut grass. It was very easy to assemble. And it’s not loud

I have been a fan of Toro for a long time and this product did not dissapoint. Self driving was fast but didnt feel like I was having to run behind the mower. Surface coverage from the blades was excellent and consistent, didn’t have any patches that were missed after finishing mowing the lawn.

Great mower! The wheels adjust in the front and are hooked to the back ones, having to adjust just the front two instead of all four. Raising and lowering the wheels are the easiest I have ever seen. There is no oil changing, ever! You might have to add some from time to time but how great not to have that messy job anymore. It is very powerful and self propelled. There is a rear bagger that unloads super easily, and long pegs to rest it on. It has started with just one pull each time I have used it. It mulches the leaves down very very well. I really appreciate the quarter turn gas cap! The handle is very easy to disassemble for easy storage. I highly recommend this mower.

I love the Toro Recycler 21 in. Briggs and Stratton Low Wheel RWD Gas Walk Behind self propelled lawn mower with Bagger. This mower does a great job at mulching. There is only a single speed for the self propelled but it does a great job! It’s easy to adjust the wheel height which is great! It comes with a bag which I will be using soon. It’s nice and light and easy to maneuver. I recommend this mower.

The Toro recycler 21 in Briggs and Stratton low wheel RWD gas walk behind self propelled lawn mower with bagger arrives well protected and ready to assemble. This mower does not need oil changes but instead, you add oil as needed. The first bottle of oil is included in the box with a manual. There are 9 wheel positions and are easily adjusted without the need of other tools. The handle on this mower is foldable which allows for easier storage in a garage. I was able to easily mow my fall leaves, bag them and then bag them for recycle pick up. I highly recommend this efficient and easy to use.

The Toro 21 inch Recycler is a great mower for a basic lawn. Extremely easy to get ready to go out of the box. Box includes oil, which you never have to change, just check and top off when needed. The rear wheel drive and larger back wheels help when mowing the hill in my front yard. The “Recycler” I think is basically a super mulcher which I will use 95% of the time. For this time of year when I want to pick up tons of leaves I will use the bagging attachment and will do so again with my first mow of the spring. Starts of first pull which is a relief! Overall, great for me!
