When I purchased it was missing the bag and the coaster wheels for when it is in a upright position were bent from shipping. Toro gave me no issues with getting a new bag and replacement wheels. It started on the first pull with no problems, I have had no issues with it sounding like it was going to sputter and die in regular use. But I did push in the spark plug wire onto the spark plug fully before ever trying to start it. Maybe they send it loose on purpose for shipping. The only time it had a hard time was when I was going through my St Aug that had a few weeks of rain and growth, so it was well past time for being cut. It is normally cut at 4″ and I had to cut almost 3 or 4″ just to bring it back to normal. But even then it powered through most of it.The only down side I see with this mower is the flap on the back. With my thick St Aug when ever I pull the mower backwards the flap would fold inward towards the blades. But then most of the time it would not fold back out. In the end I just ended up removing it as it add drag to the mower. Not a big deal, but if Im going to nit pick then there you have it.

Excellent lawnmower, leaves your grass looking like it was manicured. Personal pace feature gives you the feeling you are cutting your grass in cruise control.

I bought this to mow about a 1/4 acre residential lot with St. Augustine grass. There is slight slope that I thought would be be problematic for a walk behind mower. This mower cuts it with no problem whatsoever. Almost effortless walking up the slope with the rear wheel drive and personal pace.

Bought this at the beginning of Summer. Much nicer than my old self propelled mower. This thing really moves itself and the way it adapts to your walking speed is really a great feature. The only thing I’m not happy about is it will seemingly randomly start sputtering for a few seconds and sound like its going to shutdown and then the engine picks right back up to its normal running speed again. I’d say in a 30 minute mowing session this routinely happens 2 or 3 times. It has never actually stalled but something is off. Other than that I am happy with it.

Well worth the money. Does a great job of mulching leaves as well.

It is so light and manageable that I didn’t think it could handle my yard. But the machine is easy to use, easy to start and clean. This was one of my better decisions for maintaining my yard.

Very satisfied with my shopping experience and my new Toro personal place mower.

Best mover i have ever owned. mulches great and leaves no big clumps of grass anywhere because it makes it so small. Watched lots of youtube video about this machine before i got it and would agree with what all the youtubers were saying about this mower. Old mower used to make my hands numb but that is gone with this mower because of the flex handle. also the smartstow feature makes it really easy to get on and off a 5 inch lip on the side of my garage. Love this mower just wish it could cut my grass for me.

My old Toro Personal Pace recycler of 16 or so years broke, so it was time to get a new one. I tried the high wheel Toro with the Honda motor, but it lacked the Personal Pace feature and had front wheel drive, which, combined, made it really difficult to maneuver.I returned it and spent the extra $$ for the smart stow Personal Pace mower, and boy am I happy so far! Cuts smoothly, starts fast on the first pull, and with the Personal Pace system, seems like it knows where I want to go. Nearly mows the lawn by itself. I just walk behind it to make sure it gets the whole yard!I love the lighter weight black aluminum deck and the shock absorber system. And the Smart Stow feature will come in handy with the limited garage space I have when I store it this winter. The only small issue I have is that the height adjustments are not a good fit for my grass, as I like to cut at 3 inches. There isn’t a 3″ height available. Also, it would be easier to have actual numbers instead of letters to indicate cut height.

I purchased my Toro SuperRecycler about 5 months ago. The positives: Great cut, comfortable, awesome personal pace, and nice features such as the smart stow and deck cleaning. The negatives: Since the very first time I used this mower, I noticed some surging. I thought it would go away over time but it hasn’t. It doesn’t happen all the time but when it happens the engine is very close to die. I have been using fresh gasoline from reputable gas companies so I don’t thik gas is the issue. I also notice an oil leak where the oil tube connects to the engine crankcase. Last but not least, it produces white smoke on the second pull (not always, but it’s happening more frequent now). These engine issues have me very disappointed since I had very high expectations from this machine. I hope Toro could provide solutions to these issues, specially the engine surge since I know from forums it is a common issue and there are not any recall or solution on hand.

Mower’s great when bagging or mulching. Very easy to start. Been using Toro products for many years.

When it’s working it’s the best lawn mower I’ve owned. Bought and immediately returned due to a bent deck. Second has an issue with the RWD system and is getting warranty repair. A $500 mower could be better out of the box.

Lawnmower does a great job cutting grass and mulching leaves. The deck is very sturdy and I really like the smart stow feature. It really saves space in the garage.
Enid Stracke (verified owner) –
The Toro mower required no assembly. Right out of the box, pull the handle up into position, add oil and gas and it’s ready for the great outdoors. Took less than 30 minutes from box to grass. Starts on first pull every time. Engine runs smooth. Plenty of power for my tall grass areas.

Very light easy to maneuver makes a nice even cut so far so good

I purchased this mower to replace a 17 year-old Toro Personal Pace mower that broke (I think it was the drive shaft) – and I couldn’t be happier!Originally I tried the Toro FWD High Wheel because of the price…That was a mistake. After half a lawn I returned it for this one, and I don’t regret the additional $120 spent. The Personal Pace SmartStow runs and maneuvers like it knows what I want it to do – it practically drives itself! I’m not sure how people don’t like the personal pace system, but it’s SO much easier than the bar that you need to pull up from under the handle. I know that the Honda has a thumbs-operated system that’s good, but I really like the PP system. I can walk as slowly as I want or jog to keep up with it.This thing turns with ease, and seems to cut well. It’s late in the season, so we’ll see how it handles next year. The aluminum deck is sharp-looking and lightweight. Hopefully it’ll stand up to many summers. And the added bonus here is the SmartStow feature. What a God-send! I have limited space in my garage, so when I swap out the lawnmower for the snowblower, I’ll have more space than before.Don’t hesitate to spend the extra cash for this mower – I’ll return to review this next year, but so far, so good!
