Over several weeks I trimmed a 50 ft long, 30 ft wide, 8 ft high Areca palm hedge and a smaller 25 x 2 x 4 hedge and a couple smaller hedges. Product worked great. Did not jam or bog down. Ran 50 ft 12 gage extension cord from house and added 50 ft 14 gage cord to that. Motor seemed to have plenty of voltage and ran wide open whole time. Would recommend if you do not have strong arms to use smaller, lighter hedger, but I needed the 22 in or longer length and the somewhat heavier weight tells me more metal and thus more quality in product (yes, also lot of plastic construction but is not everything plastic these days?). It cut the size material as advertised and would even chip away somewhat at the larger stuff. After all this some of the blades looked like they might have small nicks, but that could be from me hitting bigger wood branches – at least I hope that does not mean they are wearing too fast. Dual action also good so you can sweep back and forth or up and down. I also liked large handle and large guard. Cord holder ok but did let cord slip out from time to time – maybe designed for 12 gage cord instead of the 14 gage I was using at end. Now for the big question – will it perform as well for many more seasons? Only time will tell. I also appreciate that I was able to order on line and pick up at my Home Depot local store as I do not like home delivery since there is a big problem with “porch pirates” following delivery trucks and stealing packages off door steps.
