Enhance the speed, coverage, and reliability of your home Wi-Fi network by putting the Archer A20 AC4000 Wireless Tri-Band Gigabit Router from TP-Link at its center. Featuring six powerful antennas and Beamforming for far-reaching range, this router uses NitroQAM technology to boost 802.11ac Wi-Fi speeds across the 2 GHz and dual 5 GHz signal bands to deliver a total throughput of up to 4000 Mb/s. With three wireless bands using MU-MIMO technology to simultaneously communicate with multiple devices and a Smart Connect feature that automatically switches to the most efficient band, you’ll have reliable and fast Wi-Fi for streaming 4K video, playing online games, and more.
Four Gigabit Ethernet ports are available for connecting computers, video game consoles, printers, and other wired devices to the network. With Link Aggregation, you can combine two Ethernet ports with compatible network-attached storage (NAS) devices to double the wired transfer speed. You can also plug external storage drives into the USB 3.0 Type-A and USB 2.0 Type-A ports to quickly share files across the network. In addition to 128-bit WEP, WPA/WPA2, and WPA-PSK/WPA-PSK2 encryptions, your network is secured by TP-Link HomeCare, which includes tools such as an antivirus and customizable parental controls.

Measurably better distance coverage and wall penetration than the previous-generation Linksys unit it replaced. Admin interface is straightforward but guidance is thin once you deviate from defaults. WPS did not work as expected with other-brand extenders (not sure whose fault it was, resorted to direct network config on all units). Good value (was on sale 30% off list).

I spent an extra 15 bucks or so for the 6 antennas hoping the signal would reach my garage. I can stream to my cellphone near the front of the garage but not the back, which is ok, since Bluetooth will reach my end audio device anywhere in the garage. Otherwise no problems, except with the tether app, which may have been my fault, so I’ll probably have to reset and start over.

We bought this when our older Apple router was losing range. It was easy to install and the improvement in range was great. Now reaches into backyard. No longer glitchy. Happy customer!

Easy to set up and extremely stable with its connections. Love the many options and features this router offers. The app “Tether” is great to monitor and modify router settings.

Tried a TP ac1800 because of the 6 protocol for 2 months . What a piece of junk ! I took a chance and paid more for this with the 5 protocol . This was a GREAT choice believe it or not . Set it and forget it . Better range , never have to reboot it and all my house is online and stable . The Water heater , Vacuum , Tv’s , Thermostats , Ooma , Car are all hooked up and working without ever dropping for 2 months now . B&H stood behind the JUNK refurbed ac1800 after sending me 2 units . I recommend B&H and this Router very highly .

I strongly considered buying a mesh system, then re-thought it based on successful use of my Apple Time Capsule for the last 10 years. House is 1600 sq ft basement, 2000, main floor. Router is central in basement. Transfer rates up to 425 mb/sec upstairs, 200 through concrete block walls in workshop. Very pleased. Lots of settings options.

This router delivers much stronger penetrating signals than my previous Motorola and more reliable. Good product.
