The TL-SG1016DE 16-Port Gigabit Easy Smart Switch from TP-Link is designed for small and medium business networks that require simple network management. To optimize traffic on your business network, Easy Smart switch offers both port- and tag-based QoS to keep latency-sensitive traffic moving smoothly and jitter-free. With its innovative energy-efficient technology, the Gigabit switch can save up to 40% of power consumption, making it an eco-friendly solution for your business network.
This Gigabit Easy Smart switch offers network monitoring for users to observe traffic behavior. With Port Mirroring, Loop Prevention, and Cable Diagnostics features, this switch can identify and even locate connection problems on your business network. Administrators can designate the priority of the traffic, based on Port Priority and 802.1P Priority, to ensure that voice and video are always clear, smooth, and lag-free. Furthermore, to improve security and network performance, the switch supports MTU VLAN, port-based VLAN, and 802.1Q-based VLAN functions. The Easy Smart switch is an upgrade from the plug and play Unmanaged Switch, delivering value while empowering your network.
The TL-SG1016DE features an energy-efficient technology that can expand your network’s capacity with less power. The Gigabit switch automatically adjusts power consumption according to the link status and cable length to limit the carbon footprint of your network. When a computer or network equipment is off, the corresponding port of a traditional switch will continue to consume considerable amounts of power. The Gigabit switch can automatically detect the link status of each port and reduce the power consumption of ports that are idle. This switch analyzes the length of the Ethernet cable connected and adjusts the power usage accordingly, rather than keeping the power consumption in a conventional solution.
This Gigabit switch is easy to use and manage. Auto MDI/MDI-X crossover on all ports eliminates the need for crossover cables or uplink ports. Auto-negotiation on each port senses the link speed of a network device (10, 100, or 1000 Mb/s), and intelligently adjusts for compatibility and optimal performance. Its compact size makes it suitable for desktops with limited space as it is rack-mountable, convenient, and safe. It also features LED lights that provide real-time work status display and basic fault diagnosis.

It works as an unmanaged switch but is bad as a smart switch. Port trunking link aggregation does work with our QNAP devices. Definitely an issue with switch, since it works with other switches. Updated firmware and just doesn’t work. Lots of little bugs in the interface.

Great 16 port managed switch for the price. For any business I recommend at least a managed switch and for the price of this one its been working great so far. Pretty simple GUI with VLan support.
