This little wireless USB adapter works perfectly for my older 2012 Macbook Pro, however it took some time to install the firmware because you’ll want want to manually validate the SHA256 checksum zip file from the TRENDnet site. Don’t worry, a quick google search will tell you how to do this, and it’s very easy to do. Other issues include intermittent continuity with the router-once you get a certain distance from your router, you’ll lose connectivity. Not a dealbreaker though. All that aside, this product still gets five stars because it works given the alternative of opening up the Macbook and installing a new wireless card myself.

Works like a charm and does exactly what is is supposed to do. Excellent.

I simply plugged into an open USB port and was immediately able to go online with my Wi-Fi network.

I’m no stranger to replacing parts on my laptop, so when my Wi-Fi card suddenly gave up the ghost, I splashed out money on a new one. However, installing a new card didn’t fix the issue. Then I found this adapter. Works just as good as the original Intel Wi-Fi card. Painless to install, it will have you up and running in no time. Because it is so slim, I often forget it’s even plugged into the laptop.

I plugged the unit into a Trendnet 4-way switch and all three of my connected computers can access the same wireless adapter! It seems to be working as expected, but better.

I installed this on the HP Z2 G4 tower (which is not wireless) and it now operates wirelessly. The wireless connection from the Z2 G4 to the ASUS monitor and the Brother MFC-J995DW printer works perfectly.

Two stars because they have prompt customer service, but the product no longer works on Macs. Here’s why. I had a few problems with the TRENDnet Micro wireless adapter in the past, including intermittent connectivity issues, but overall the product worked. However my Macbook force updated to macOS Catalina version 10.15.3, and now the firmware is not supported for this product. It won’t work on the new OS, and quite frankly going back an OS isn’t an option nor should it be. I communicated with the customer support at TRENDnet, who to their credit were prompt in their replies (hence two stars instead of one) but they confirmed their firmware will not be updated to support OS Catalina. They also noted they do not have any products that support Macs running on Catalina. Hopefully they’ll remedy this problem soon, but in the meantime I will look at other options from Linksys / Netgear. If you’re a Mac owner with the latest OS, don’t buy this product.

Bought this after using another manufacturer’s adapter which had died. The wifi pickup is weak and frequently drops the connection. Price is the only thing this unit has going for it.
