This TriBest Sedona Express 11-Plastic Tray Food Dehydrator is my first foray into the making and processing of dehydrated foods. I love to eat them but just never knew much about how they got that way. And although the initial cost of this unit is up there, so are the prices of dehydrated and dried foods when you add them up over time. This unit surely pays for itself if you are serious about this type of eating. I’m sure I will get better at this but for my first experiences, I started out quite basic and simple. Although I really love dried apricots and prunes, those in their fresh form are difficult to find in the Midwest supermarkets. So I stayed with apples, bananas, kiwis, and pineapples. The basic theory remains the same – thinner (slices) or smaller (chunks) is better because the dehydrator doesn’t have to work so hard. Following the enclosed directions using lemon juice and setting the TST time/heat feature on the Dehydrator yielded the best and easiest results in my opinion. There were some failures on my trays but I owe that off to newbie operator error. I didn’t feel confident enough yet to do beef jerky but since I love it as does my dog, I am anxious to try that food next. Although smaller, I don’t see the dehydrator sitting on my kitchen counter but I will keep it nearby in my pantry. Make sure to keep the dehydrator well ventilated when in use and also know, it is fairly quiet when running. Follow the instruction manual and you will do fine. There is work required to make these type of foods (versus just buying a package at the supermarket) but only you will be able to determine if this is for you or not.

This is a great quality, great capacity food dehydrator! It is very quite to operate and I love the shelves that are easy to remove as needed without having to take the whole unit apart. On the first run, I dried some nectarines & beef jerky. While I still need to find the perfect jerky recipe, this first batch was pretty tasty and even my kids had the dried nectarines. I also plan on making my dog her treats in here so that I can know 100% what goes into her food,& she love the first batch of jerky as well. Easy to clean trays, just pop them the dishwasher.

The Sedona 11 tray food dehydrator has a nice glass door so you can see your dehydrating project progress. It has very simple buttons to select the settings and temperature. It was confusing because the timer did not have enough digits for hours and minutes. After two hours I was able to dehydrate an apple that was sliced very very thin. I also tried a banana that was 1/4 inch thick but after 8 hours it was just turning brown and getting mushy rather than dry even after having dipped it in lemon juice. The recipe book is very very limited but it does need to be looked at for the do and don’t practices in using this machine. I wanted a higher end dehydrator to make my own snacks because the food in the store contains either too much sodium as a preservative, sulfer or sulfite. The machine makes a quiet fan like noise and requires adequate ventilation space and the top of the machine does get warm so consider this when purchasing for space and operating requirements.

I bought this machine recently from an international distributor in thailand. It meets all standards and dehydrates beef and fish perfectly. I bought this for making beef and fish jerky for my dog and it came out so good. Also looking gorgeous on my counter top.

This Sedona Express food dehydrator works amazing well. It has two different cooking speeds, Fast and Raw with an extremely helpful manual on which speed to use for different foods. I have used both speeds and the foods turned out great. I love that it comes with several trays and is good size to dehydrated a lot of items at one time. I have not only done one food at a time but several foods at once including onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, apples and bananas. I have it sitting on the counter next to my refrigerator and it looks great in my kitchen. Very happy with this and pleased with the way it dries the food.

So far we really like our Sedona Express 11-Plastic Tray Food Dehydrator. We have only dehydrated bananas, apples and peaches but they turned out great. It took over 8 hours but I feel the reason it took that long was because of the low temperature of 110 degrees we had it set on. That was the temperature the recipe book called for, however, the printed temperatures are just a guide line. The dehydration time will very depending on the thickness and moisture content of the item(s). This machine will also allow you to make beef jerky and that is one of our next tests. This is the first dehydrator with a maximum temperature of 167°F, operational range of 77°F to 167°F so what you want, and how you want it is only limited by your imagination! This dehydrator only takes up a small area on your counter top and runs fairly quite. It also has a glass door and a light so you can check the dehydration process without having to open the door and interrupting the process. This machine also lets you speed the dehydration starting out on a FAST(High temperature) setting for a few hours and then automatically drop down to a lower temperature for the rest of process. You can do so much with this dehydrator that it will take time to learn everything but it will be worth it with the great food coming out of it.
