I was really excited to use this switch. It’s cheap, looks like it’s built well, and has some handy features. Here’s the details that can trip you up: – this switch is only 24v passive POE pass-through. That means everything connected to this gets 24v, even if it’s a device that doesn’t support POE. – this switch can dish out 30W of POE. Plenty to power your cameras and/or APs. The rest of Ubiquiti’s switches, if you planed on powering this with a switch, only output 17W of passive POE. If you need all 30W the only way to get that is with a separate injector. – the G3 Flex doesn’t officially support 24v Passive POE, but I’ve heard some people say they’ve gotten it to work with 24v POE. There are issues when you try to power the G3 Flex through the NanoSwitch though. I was excited to use this, but I think I’m just going to lay a few more runs of Cat5e directly from my rackmount switch. If you really need something like this look into the UniFi Switch Flex. It supports 802.3af, offers 43W (34W if powering by a switch) of power, and has an extra port. Props to B&H for their quick return process.

Ensure you know what you’re buying. This is Passive 24V. For any modern Unifi equipment, you’ll likely going to want the USW-FLEX which does 802.3at/bt IN and 802.3af out.

Great for adding another device or two at the end of a run. Somewhat sensitive to lightning strikes, based on my experiences, but then most gear is. Easy and cheap enough to replace if needed.

This works great. Had a little issue with the PoE and connecting up all 4 ports, but figured it out. One of these has been outside on a light pole for over 2 years now, still works great.
