It supports the 802.11ac Wi-Fi standard with speeds of up to 867 Mb/s in the 5 GHz radio band, and up to 300 Mb/s in the 2.4 GHz radio band. The Wi-Fi system offers simultaneous dual band operation with 2 x 2 MIMO technology for each band. It has a range of up to 400′ and two Gigabit Ethernet ports. This UniFi Access Point (AP) has a sleek design and can be easily mounted to a ceiling tile or wall, using the included mounting hardware.
The Wi-Fi system includes UniFi Controller software that can be installed on a PC, Mac, or Linux machine within the network, and is easily accessible through a standard Web browser. I bought this to work in conjunction with the ER-X. It works perfectly, and gives a lot of control over your wireless network. Just note, the ER-X uses EdgeOS software to set up and configure. This AP uses UniFi Controller. The UniFi controller can be installed on a computer on your network to configure, etc. You do not have to have the UniFi Controller running on a computer after configuration UNLESS you want the extra features like Guest Portal (space for your “guests” to login to use your WiFI). I have a RaspberryPI running the UniFi Controller and it works perfectly.

I work for a church and we were looking for something to replace our old home router setup. The connection we had with our old setup was unreliable and the coverage was uneven. We purchased the 5 pack to fix this problem. Ever since we installed these routers into our AP points in the ceiling, I haven’t had to touch it. Setup was super easy, and the UniFi Controller is very convenient to have so you know whats down or who is using which router. Connection is great, and the coverage is so strong it goes outside to the parking lot. More than satisfied! One thing to note for the 5 pack, you will need to purchase the PoE injectors separately. I found some on Amazon for $5.00 each.

I got the 5 pack to cover a large home and surrounding property. The range is so good that I really could have done it with 4. Has been rock solid for 2 weeks. Will report problems if I ever have them. It was pretty easy to setup on of the AP’s as a client which then provided wired Internet access to the detached garage.

Setup was very easy and straightforward. The UniFi management interface is very sleek and modern. I would definitely recommend this Wireless Access Point!

Our new Ubuquiti access point arrived quickly, was simple to install, and works beautifully! With our main wifi/router was terrible quality (it’s Comcast, what do you expect), and located at a far corner of our house, so we couldn’t get signal in the opposite corner of the house. Installed this in the center of the house (we have CAT6 in every room, so it was just a matter of picking a spot and running a patch cable), and now we have fast wifi everywhere we need it.

This brand was recommended by B&H after I searched through the many Access Points available Online and was confused as to the best brand to choose. The setup had a little hiccup, so I phoned B&H and the they walked me thru the steps. Took under 5 minutes and the Access Point works perfectly. I now have the same SSID throughout my three floors with excellent wifi strength. Highly recommend this brand over the many competitive brand available knowing B&H support is there in the event you need help.

I installed these for a home wi-fi network and love the results. My house has phone jacks wired with Cat 5e, so I replaced RJ-11 plugs with RJ-45 and put a UAP-AC-LITE at each end and one in the middle. It works seamlessly for all devices. Configuration required some technical skill for one of the three devices; it would not update firmware through the automated interface and I had to look up a manual, get the default passwords, and do a manual firmware update via scp. The other two updated automatically through the management console. If you can do a wired backhaul and have some technical skill, this is a great home WiFi solution. The range and signal penetration through walls is very good. I’ve even got signal in the garage.

I wish I could locate a comprehensive guide to the proper description and usage of ubiqiti devices. They perform well but I don’t understand their capabilities and proper deployment

Replace your consumer grade wireless router you bought from @ with an EdgeRouter or USG from Ubiquiti and one of these access points and the days of dropped connections and flaky netflix are over. This access point has been shown in some studies to actually improve your IQ by a measurable amount as well as help bring harmony to your home. The glowing blue ring of wifi bliss is an added night lite bonus. (can be turned off)If your switch does not support POE you must use the supplied injector. The power cord on the injector is very short, so plan ahead. This unit does not even blink when faced with almost 20 wireless devices simultaneously connected. Phones, Rokus, laptops, Dish Hoppers, iPads, android tablets, etc.

Picked up this little unit to add wireless access to a small office that we added to our network. They previously had their own internet connection which is being removed and we never figured in WiFi to the equation. Cost effective solution, very reasonable price for enterprise hardware, simple setup, AC speed, and an easy download for controller software. I will certainly consider replacing my older Cisco’s with something else in this family if this one proves reliable.

I purchased a couple of the AC-LITE APs to replace the built-in WiFi on my home router. Installed the UniFi Network software on a Raspberry Pi for configuration. If you expect plug-and-play networking, you’ll find these too much trouble, but since I do IT stuff professionally, it was no problem to get everything set up and working. Would definitely purchase more of the APs, as need-be.

I find the Ubiquiti equipment well made and easy to install. It does what you want out of equipment, it just works! I have 4 locations using ubiquiti access points. All of them work great.

So far I have had this working for a couple of weeks and I love it. I do have one…. lets call it public service announcement… Make sure you update these (in a lab if possible) BEFORE trying to set these up. There are some pretty significant things in their updates which includes product interoperability. So far every device I have purchased required and firmware update before they could communicate with their own backbone hardware. This isnt a significant problem its just a reminder to always update anything you get before your on location and dont have things like internet setup yet…. because after all… the internet IS most likely what your setting up in the first place. Guess why Im putting this in the review…..

I was unhappy with the verizon fios router/wifi coverage so I turned off the wifi and installed the UAP-AC-LITE access point. This provides the coverage I wanted and works great! Thanks, Gordon

I have installed this in my home and for a couple small businesses and love the performance & price of ubiquiti hardware. The combination of USG + PoE switch + these APs is a rock solid setup.

I called and live chatted with B&H and UBNT separately to confirm that this WAP supports the import of CSV file lists of MAC addresses for MAC whitelist filtering. Both said confidently yes. I purchased multiple WAPs of this model. My company spent time and money installing them. Guess what, this thing does not support MAC filtering at all. I was told by UBNT support, post-sale and installation, that this is a beta feature that is not currently supported. They then asked if we had a USG from their brand installed.
