The UAP-AC-LITE-5 UniFi Access Point Enterprise Wi-Fi System from Ubiquiti Networks is a scalable enterprise access point solution designed to be easily deployed and managed. It supports the 802.11ac Wi-Fi standard with speeds of up to 867 Mb/s in the 5 GHz radio band, and up to 300 Mb/s in the 2.4 GHz radio band. The Wi-Fi system offers simultaneous dual band operation with 2 x 2 MIMO technology for each band. It has a range of up to 400′ and two Gigabit Ethernet ports. This UniFi Access Point (AP) has a sleek design and can be easily mounted to a ceiling tile or wall, using the included mounting hardware.
The Wi-Fi system includes UniFi Controller software that can be installed on a PC, Mac, or Linux machine within the network, and is easily accessible through a standard Web browser. Using the UniFi Controller software, an Enterprise Wi-Fi network can be quickly configured and administered, without any special training. Real-time status, automatic UAP device detection, map loading, and advanced security options are all seamlessly integrated in the system.

Just works!

If you are a technically competent to configure your network gear, this is a good WIFI AP (PoE, management software/dashboard). I have a problem with PoE device run at 1Gbps, it keeps defaulting to 100Mbps. But Unifi Tech Support is helpful and reachable.

Ubiquiti makes everything easy to configure and manage with their Unifi interface which is great. Installation is super easy with the supplied power brick. I bought the AP-AC-Lite instead of the Pro and I’m starting to regret it. I’m getting a maximum of about 230Mbps download as opposed to 300Mbps+ I was getting with an ASUS AC-87U. Granted, those are still SUPER fast, but I would have liked for the Ubiquiti to have been able to keep up. I don’t know if it will handle Wifi roaming yet. I still have to test that.

I’m pretty happy with this AP. Its just an AP, not a wireless router so it doesn’t have any NAT or firewall features, which is fine by me, I have a Pfsense firewall that does all that for me. Its PoE, though the PoE is somewhat non-standard in that only works with the injector that comes with the unit.I have the unit mounted on the ceiling in my central hallway and its completely inconspicuous, especially given that you can shut the blue LED status ring off so that it looks just like a smoke detector. I bought 2, one for upstairs and one for the basement. They are configured identically with the unifi software. Setting them up took about 20m. I did a bit of speed testing and am seeing 760mbps or so straight out of the box in the place that I usually work, so for the $ or $ these units cost I’m pretty happy.

These units perform wonderfully just as all the Unifi Products do. The only thing I wish is that this unit was the 48V PoE instead of 24V. We have over 70 Unifi Access Points deployed on a campus across multiple sites and generally have no issues. They just work.

it just works, simple as that

I found the Android app very easy to use, much better than trying to set it up from my Linux box. Good range inside the house.

Just the usual A++ rating for Ubiquiti products.

Configuring this access point is not for the faint of heart! The configuration interface is very complex and unintuitive. Those with a good knowledge of WiFi networking will find it delightful to see how finely one can tune the options, but those with less knowledge will find the experience frightening and should best stay away.

I have this wifi access point mounted on a high wall in the central part of the house; it easily provides coverage to all rooms (4000′ feet home). You need to have access to an ethernet cable and you must be able to provide power over ethernet or be able to use the included power injector somewhere along the cable run. It works very well and is fairly easy to set up, but it’s not a home handyman type of thing.

Been using Ubiquiti UAP for years. The newest AC release is a great step forward. The older UAP’s diminished speeds on some networks but the throughput on these devices is close to ethernet speeds (in preliminary testing). Was not paying enough attention to realize that the 5 pack does not include the Passive POE Injectors. You will need to order them separately or purchase the Ubiquiti Switch that has POE sensor for the proprietary passive injectors on these devices. The LITE version does not conform to 802.3af standard.

wired this up on the 2nd floor and now I have signal in places where I had weak signal. This is not just plug and go, need to have some knowledge of networking to get it going, once it does it is worth the effort.

Excellent product overall. Recommend that you first get familiar with Unifi’s controller software. These will do both 2.4 and 5 Ghz, have very good coverage, and interoperate with each other to provide zero-handoff coverage in large spaces. Reliability with these has been superior. One thing to keep in mind is that this package deal does not come with any PoE injectors. You will need passive PoE injectors, 24VDC, or a PoE switch from Ubiquiti. I recommend either using one of their ToughSwitch (5-port PoE or 8-port Port) or UniFi Switches (varies – 8 ports to 48 ports). Hint: The signal bloom is aligned with the U symbol on the unit. Just like all antennas, these units will propagate a stronger signal in one direction (i.e. the sides of the U) and a weaker one in other directions. This is important when deciding to install these along hallways and in concrete buildings. Lastly, if you pair these with a CloudKey for control, you can forgo using a dedicated PC to run the control software (which is only needed when setting up and making changes); Keep in mind that if your PC buys the farm for any reason, you lose control and will have to readopt to another unit (either through reset or the CLI shell interface). For large installations and to save yourself headaches down the road, ALWAYS pair these with a CloudKey (Ubiquiti part number UCK).

The only issue I had was my switch supplied 802.3af Poe and the AP needed 24v passive Poe and the 5 pack doesn’t come with the power injectors.

It is a reliable AP. It can be easily configured by Android AP.

Good price for a great access point if you are already running a Unifi controller for managing other stuff.
