Purchased this product and had my internet provider install and the product is horrible. My devices are drop from the Wi-Fi connection every 30 seconds to 6 minutes and after dropping the devices will reconnect. This happens with all devices in the home. The entire inside home network is set up with product from this company web portal for the router does not show any record of the devices dropping. Do not buy this product….

The one I purchased is being powered via PoE from a US-8 switch. I love unifi, it’s comparable to being “the apple” of networking. The system is incredibly reliable. You can set it and forget it if you like, set it up, close all the software and it will continue to run with current instructions. Before moving all unifi I had an AP Lite wired into my older linksys router. It never went down, never slowed down, I hadn’t needed to restart it in about 16 months.

These are so far superior to any consumer grade wifi/router combos. I just regret having not discovered ubiquiti products sooner! Pair several of these with a unifi controller to enjoy a fast 5g connection throughout your entire home/building/site.

This unit installs very nicely in the ceiling space of an office environment, was easy to install and configure the SSID and other parameters, and has been working well.

Very easy to provision in a new or existing UBNT UniFi site. Installation using PoE is very convenient. Fantastic coverage and mesh wifi support (Beta as of 7/1/19) works very well for smooth hops between APs.

We have two other Ubiquiti products: Unifi AP and UniFi AP Outdoor. I have used both for a little over two years and they are very reliable and stable with an average of 10-20 devices in use simultaneously spread among the two. I have streamed HD video on at least 8 devices simultaneously and they all streamed perfectly, no hiccups. I’ve been using this latest model, the UAP-AC-LITE, for about 1 month now. Just as reliable and stable as the others and I really appreciate that it has gigabit connectivity now. The AC is fast. Our internet service is 120 Mb DL/10 Mb UL. When connected via ethernet I consistently obtain 123 Mb/10.5 Mb. When connected via the UAP-AC-LITE 5GHz AC and my laptop is approximately 15 feet from the AP, I get 110 Mb/10.5 Mb. AWESOME!! Very easy to setup. I use the Guest Portal feature so that I can separate out guests from my own devices. Same network, same IP addressing scheme, but only DHCP and DNS (AFAIK) are forwarded to all devices. So, while a device on the guest network can see devices on the inside network, they cannot connect to them, not even PING. I may be missing something here, so definitely do your own research, but I feel very comfortable and secure with it. At this price (which I’m not listing since it is requested that you don’t list prices) it is an amazing deal. I am definitely going to be getting a few for people for birthdays!! Yup, I’m that much of a geek, lol. Happy networking!!

I’ve been configuring these before. Great quality tools and quite customizable with the software. Wil boy more to improve my home mesh. My only problem is that DHL charges twice (one for transport and another extra fee for handling customs, an extra 150 dollars)

I really like these access points. We are installing them in our business, and it is much easier than our prior Wifi set up. Very easy to add on to the system anywhere we need more coverage. I even applied one of these at home where I did the install and set up myself, and it was too easy. I was up and going in may be 20 minutes. At home, I have much better coverage and speed! I have already told friends and Family about these access Points

Easy set up. great range for a lite version. I am about to add this to a few more campuses it is so good.

After trying endlessly with complex router and repeater setups, powerline networking and $- top-of-the-line consumer equipment, I was tired of buggy firmware and inconsistent performance that seemed no better than the many cheap and popular offerings. The higher Tx of expensive wifi routers lead to full bars on receiving devices, but don’t accurately reflect many devices inability to talk back with the same range and power, leading to odd signal drops and delays. The UniFi equipment is rock solid, realistic and excellent value for AC hardware. With two AP’s, none of the 15+ devices on my network at any given time have dropped even once in the few months I’ve owned them. Throughput is great with all applicable devices successfully locking onto the fastest supported link speed.Roaming and band-steering works effectively, and the Java-based management console is top-notch for small business and prosumer use with features not typically found on consumer-grade equipment. Ubiquity releases firmware and software updates to improve performance and add useful features. They work perfectly using PoE from a Mikrotik RB260GSP (recommended to me over UniFi’s PoE switches in that price range). I do recommended turning down the Tx power on the AP’s when more than one is used for better roaming performance and less interference. The packaging, product and software all showcase quality and attention to detail, and the AP’s look great ceiling-mounted but can also be tucked away if preferred. The closest consumer hardware can get is multiple AirPort Extremes, but you pay a higher price while also sacrificing features and manageability. I was uncertain at first, looking at other small business AP solutions, but I’m glad I went with the UniFi and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

What else can I say that hasn’t been said before about the Ubiquiti APs. They work as advertised, I get my full 60Mbps over 5Ghz from anywhere in the house using only a single AP in the middle of the house. Very easy to setup, pretty much plug and play for the basics, but then using the beta version of the software, I was able to see various stats about the device, configure the preferred channel, name the connected devices so that they are easy to identify. It looks great, small footprint. I have zero complaints so far and I’ve been using it for 2 weeks. With my router, the WiFi would sometimes drop when I was at the edge of the house, but with the UAP-AC-LITE it never happened, I have a super stable connection.

The range on these are disappointing compared to many consumer grade products.

Added this to my network that had 1 and my range is extraordinary!

We have a TV on the lanai and the signal was cutting in and out. After having this installed, TV is great!

This is a great WiFi access point/bridge. It performs very well and best of all, no periodic reboots are required! CAVEAT: This is not for everyone. This product was intended for enterprise use. As such it is not plug-and-play, and there is no simple set-up wizard. If you don’t know something about network administration, this is probably not for you.

I been using my trusty Linksys WRT54G for over 15 years and decided it was time for some upgrades and that I wouldn’t buy into the combined router/AP/switch boxes any more. For ease of upgrading individual components and the ability to get better quality components where I wanted them it just made sense. Ubiquity was a natural choice for the AP. Great reputation of enterprise quality without the enterprise price. Setup took me about 10 minutes. Finding an old laptop with Java was the only tricky part – I didn’t have Java on any of my new systems and didn’t want install it either. Range and signal strength are much improved over the old 54g. PoE is wonderful – no need to place this beautiful white orb by an outlet or run an extension cord through the attic. Some people complain about the PoE spec for this AP not being industry standard but it doesn’t bother me. I don’t have other devices that utilize PoE, so a PoE switch doesn’t make sense for me anyway.

This small and light AP handles anything and everything i’ve thrownat it. i used to have a lot of crashes and stuttering before, but this solved my headaches. Don’t use consumer Wi-Fi when you can use entry level enterprise hardware. It pays off.

I purchased this to increase the WiFi coverage in my house. I was considering purchasing 2, but started with 1 just to see the coverage. Overall, I get about 25% better signal at each end of the house with this set up in the center so an improvement over the WiFi router my ISP provides. I have basic networking experience and the software was a breeze to setup. I really think anyone could do it, but give yourself a good 15 mins to click around and understand their web interface. I simply plugged an ethernet cable into my existing WiFi router, then into the PoE adapter that came with the AP. Then just ran a second ethernet cable from the PoE adapter to the AP. Mounted it on a wall with their hardware and was done, took less than 5 min total.

It is working great now, but setup took 2 days. It wouldn’t connect because it required a firmware update. But I couldn’t apply the firmware update until it connected: a marvelous, exasperating Catch-22. Instructions for updating the firmware seem to be in another language. Why can’t they set it up to connect and then automatically upgrade the firmware? 5 stars for performance; 0 stars for setup.
