Blazing speed. Exceptional range. Exactly what I’d hoped for. Worth the $$. I have a large home with my main WiFi at one side. I put a UAP upstairs and downstairs at the opposite end of the house. Fabulous coverage. Same speed as my LAN. If you’re not savvy with access point setup, ask someone who is.

Nice router, nice size, aesthetically pleasing, easy to setup, good management software (UniFi Controller). Connected to a US-8 POE port and boot-up worked flawlessly. I ran signal strength tests compared to a competitor’s router and this one had good range, especially at 5 GHz. Running Controller on a Raspberry Pi for 24/7 management access via the mobile device app. Will definitely add others to my network as other routers die.

This is the second one of these units I have purchased. After I got such amazing results in my father’s house, I had to have one for my house! Now we get much better range and much faster speeds through our house with just one added unit. The new mobile app made the setup 1000 times easier then using the desktop application, especially for a singular standalone device. I highly recommend this AP if you are having connection problems in your home or business!

I havent tested it for long distances but I get a good signal in my entire 3K sq-ft house and front and back yards. It works to provide 5 GHz connections where possible and that definitely seems to be working.

Ubiquity offers great bang for your buck with every one of their products that I have used. The AP’s are fast, have a great coverage area, and are easy to install. The management software is also good. Basic set it is easy and it still offers many advanced features.

Setup was quick and easy. It requires a phone app or desktop client, I would have preferred if it internally hosted a setup page, but once up and running it has been working flawlessly. It comes with a PoE power injector, the only input to the access point itself is an ethernet port.

Seems to be a good consumer grade ap. Doing great so far with what the manufacturer specifications state.

I have waited a long time to write this review, so here goes 🙂 My quest to improve my home network started when our pitiful 1.5 Mbps DSL connection was upgraded to 40 Mbps fiber. As part of the install, we purchased a CenturyLink C2100T modem which I have to say is pretty dang good considering that is equiptment provided by the telco. In fact, the CenturyLink modem seems to have a stronger 5G radio that the Ubiquiti! The problem is that it is very unattractive and to really get a good signal, you need to have several access points and/or mount your access point(s) high and free from obstruction. You heard me, do not purchase this unless you plan to mount it…preferably on the ceiling! This does take work, but it is worth it. I started out by plugging the Ubiquiti in from the basement, where the CenturyLink modem was. On the ground floor of the house I did get some signal, but was noticably improved when I ran cable up through the basement ceiling and set it on my dresser. Mounting it in the ceiling did take work as I had to pull the cable through my closet and drill a hole in my 90 year old plaster ceiling. I probably went a little overboard and mounted an electical box in the attic as well so I could seal up the hole to prevent a draft. Now moving the unit from on top of the dresser to the ceiling again improve receiption. Each move, from the basement, to on top of the dresser, to ceiling mounted basically got me an extra bar 🙂 Now from anywhere in the house, I can get pretty much full speed internet over WiFi which is pretty impressive considering that I have plaster walls. Although I do have to say that ping times seem better when connected to the 5G radio and there are places in the house where the 5G radio is not super strong. At some point I may install a second unit to improve this, but for now I am super happy. No more wires 🙂 Awesome internet connection. All of my devices are happy. You should get one (or two) Ubiquiti products today!

Using these devices at several locations including my home. By far the best AP for the $$. Can use the controller or the easy app for install. Reliable connections and easy to use configuration. Ubnt devices are rock solid.

I live in a dense WiFi zone. WiFi Analyzer on my phone shows 20 networks. We’re particularly inundated with signal from the school across the street. I had three TP-Link or Apple devices setup in the house and couldn’t really get good signal from 20 feet away especially on 5GHz. I installed the Ubiquiti on the closet ceiling of the bedroom in the middle of the upstairs. The house is three stories, 45 feet long, 20 feet wide. Lots of old wire mesh in the walls from the days of plaster. The signal is now strong in every room and workable outside.

Fast speed.

This unit was installed in an office area. I love the controller based setup and the LR model has very good coverage. What I found to be difficult was mounting. After mounting several UAP-AC-PRO’s at other locations with no problem this unit proved to be a challenge. I found if the small mounting nuts were any more than finger tight the moulting ring contorted making it impossible to lock in the LR’s base.

Upgraded from a standard home router + cheap APs around the house to a Ubiquiti system and it works great. Using the included passive PoE injector through an EdgeRouter X, although I wish they had included a proper 802.3af injector, which is much safer.

I was impressed with how automatic the configuration of the access point was once the controller was launched. Even adding a second unit to the system resulted in trouble free configuration. Software takes a little while to orient yourself to but is feature packed. Toughest part of the job was getting the cover on once the base is mounted to the ceiling tile. The Wi-Fi footprint is excellent and so are the up/download speeds.

This is my 2nd AC-LR so I already knew how simple it was to setup. Based of other B&H reviews I was expecting older stock but was surprised to receive a newer model that works off POE or POE+.

This Device solved all of our wifi headaches.. Excellent range and easy administration. Comes with Poe adapter! Could not get the management software to install on a mac however. website would not allow download of software.

I recently discovered Ubiquity Networks products due to poor performance of all in one routers for wireless capabilities. These are by far want I wanted to isolate wireless performance and settings and provide complete extended coverage throughout my property.

I bought this to replace an Engenius AP that I thought was going bad. I had read many good things about the Ubiquiti APs and expected an excellent product. Unfortunately that was not the case. To begin, you are required to run a management application at all times in order to keep the AP functional, I knew this and it wasn’t too big of a deal. What I didn’t know is how hard it would be to set up. I had to manually edit some config files just to get the program to run because port 8080 was already in use. This seems like a major oversight in design given the professional nature of the product. It should have prompted me for a port in the beginning. This was only a minor issue compared to the performance of the AP. It boasts a 600ft range, and I wanted it to cover my backyard as the Engenius has been. It could barely muster 8Mbps at the back end of my yard, whereas the Engenius will at least 50Mbps (my internet max) as tested with Speedtest. I am shocked that this product is so highly rated.

I bought this AP and a related router to replace an aging consumer grade wireless router which I had. Setting up this AP was a breeze and I’d recommend this to anyone wishing to implement or extend a wireless network in their home or small office. The thing to keep in mind is that this is intended to be mounted on a wall or preferably a ceiling. The router only requires a network cable and you use the included power injector to power the unit. This AP will require some other device to route the traffic from your web provider. Configuration is easy with the Unify controller software installed on your pc. Wait for the AP to power on, load the software on your pc (on the same wired network), and let it look for and provision the AP. You can configure a single combined SSID for 2.4 and 5ghz or separate and configure a guest network if so desired. Once configured, the AP has been running without issue solidly for a few weeks now. I have my PoE injector in my office and plugged into my UPS along with my modem, router, and switch. If the power goes out, all of the wireless and internet access will stay up. Be sure to test all your ethernet cables prior to installing everything. I had multiple issues with the cables I was going to use initially. One cable would only allow a max 100 connection, the other would allow gigabit, but the rj45 connector was able to pull back just enough while connected to cause an intermittent connection. Swapping to higher quality cables solved these issues. I have a 3800 sq ft house in an L shape. This AP is on the second floor in the center of the house. This works well for coverage everywhere and I’ve even seen coverage in areas where I had little to none previously. I’ve got it mounted in the ceiling of a hallway next to a smoke detector. It doesn’t look too out of place except for the blue glow (which can be turned off). I’d recommend this to anyone that has basic networking and computer knowledge looking for a solid access point.
