The fully manageable US-8-60W UniFi 8-Port Gigabit PoE Compliant Managed Switch from Ubiquiti Networks features 8 Gigabit Ethernet ports in a small form factor offering improved performance and intelligent switching capabilities for expanding networks. In addition to the 8 Gigabit Ethernet ports, this switch offers 8 Gbps non-blocking throughput, a 16 Gbps switching capacity, and a 11.9 mpps forwarding rate. It also delivers up to 15.4W of power per PoE port.
Once installed, this UniFi switch can be managed using Ubiquiti’s own UniFi Controller software giving network administrators the ability to manage multiple sites from a single interface. Network admins have full access to various Ubiquiti devices within the network with the ability to change operating modes, monitor the status of each device, manage spanning tree configuration, and much more.

Should have gotten one earlier. So nice not to mess with POE injectors. Using it to uplink to an Xfinity Modem, two UniFi Flex HD AP’s and a Cloud Key. Easy to configure.

Been using this as part of a Ubiquiti solution in homes and small businesses. The switch works great and being able to manage it in the unifi software makes it even better.

I chose this product because I need a POE for a Wi-Fi hotspot in a security camera. I had previously had an unmanaged eight port switch. This was easy to set up easy software to manage the ports loaded onto my computer and once I connected it to my network and I heard the appropriate settings for my network it worked flawlessly out of the box. Have any ability to control each individual port as well as not worrying about supplying power to both my Wi-Fi access point and camera since it’s done via ethernet is a huge plus. Wish I had bought it earlier

This gear is great. Fast and so far reliable. I would recommend this as a good 8 port gigabit with 4 port poe. Your POE must be AF compliant. I am marking it down 1 star because it gets really hot. I would not mount this directly to a drywall surface as its that hot. Use metal shelves.

In my network fabric overhaul, I installed two 24 port 1G UniFi switches plus a 16-port 10G switch. This unit is priced pretty fairly given it has four PoE ports. I have two PoE phones on my desk, so that got rid of a PoE injector plus a wall wart. That it integrates with UniFi is icing on the cake. I can easily see the exact power draw of the PoE ports. My backup LTE internet link is up at my desk, and can now be routed to the main rack via VLAN rather than a kludgy trip through two patch panels to make a direct physical connection.

The software to control the switch and my unifi WAP is great and the switch works as design….nothing bad to say here.

I got the switch along with two UAP-AC-PRO access points for our new home. Previously I’ve used an Apple Airport Extreme for WiFi. I am glad I went with Unifi, the control and insight into my network and what devices are using it is amazing, the management is super easy, and I’ve got perfect WiFi coverage now. The price of the switch and two APs was the same as I would have had to pay for a home wifi setup like Orbi, but Unifi is so much better.

Not a lot to say here. It’s a switch. But it’s nice, convenient and has POE+. One really nice feature is there are LED’s on the top to indicate which ports are POE+ active. Handy when you are in a hurry and can’t remember which cable is the Access Point!

The PoE feature and the integration to the Unifi controller really rounds out the entire solution.

Plugged this into an existing controller setup along with a new USG and an AP lite. The USG and AP are discoverable and adoptable, however the switch does not. The controller can only see it off and on and when it does, the adoption always fails. Not sure what to do as I’d prefer not to use an unmanaged switch. And would prefer not to abandon unifi ecosystem.

Switch works great, management capabilities for all ports, 4 PoE ports are super handy for reducing cabling mess for power requirements.

This is a good switch, certainly for the price. However, missing from the features (and if youre like me, you didnt notice) is that this switch will not power Ubiquitis Passive POE (24v) devices, such as their older APs or current-gen Nanostation. More confusingly, because of the way the Unifi interface separates out enabling passive POE, it is still available to apply to the switch, it just doesnt do anything.

It really couldn”t be easier, this switch is plug and paly, litterally took 30 seconds to get going. It does run significantly hotter than the 5 port Netgear switch i replaced it with thus just 4 stars.

This is the first managed switch I have owned and I am impressed with how functional it is; don’t know why I didn’t do this before! The switch is built like a tank and its small footprint makes locating it a breeze.

upgrading and trying to keep with unify for management software. works good for us. I like the colored leds. give total information at a glance. (speed and poe)

The product works as expected, the process of adopting to my network works seamlessly as expected. The switch does get a bit warm when all the ports are fully utilized.

Works perfectly

This switch will do the job powering a few POE devices. I have two comments. First I didn’t realize the network management for UNIFI devices and the Edge Router are completely different. Sure would be nice to have one application that manages everything. Second the switch runs a little warm powering two POE cameras. My first POE switch so perhaps that’s normal.

This is a great switch for the money. We use these in our satellite locations where Cisco equipment would be overkill. For the money, Ubiquiti products can’t be beat. The only reason I did not give it a five-star rating is that even though Ubiquiti products are top-notch, you have to rely on the community for most of the tech support you might need.

This switch is definitely a prosumer-grade piece of network equipment. I have this paired with a Unifi USG, which manages this switch seamlessly. The PoE ports work very well, and I’m using them to easily power PoE cameras and wireless access points. I was a little intimidated since this was my first purchase of dedicated network gear of this type, but the Ubiquiti software makes setup and hardware adoption very easy. Highly recommended!
