Expand your business’s network with the fully manageable UniFi 16-Port Managed Gigabit PoE Switch with SFP from Ubiquiti. Designed for a rack mount or desktop installation, this passively cooled 16-port Gigabit switch includes eight 32W PoE connectors with a total power budget of 42W to power devices such as network security cameras. Each port delivers 18 Gb/s non-blocking throughput, with a 36 Gb/s switching capacity, and a 26.78 Mpps forwarding rate. Two 1Gb SFP Ethernet Ports are available for additional expansion with compatible devices. Administrators may monitor and manage the switch with the 1.3″ touchscreen display or access and configure it and connected devices using the UniFi Network Controller application.

I have never seen Unifi with just 8 POE so make sure you get the right thing.

Decent switch, pricey for what it can do, I dislike that they gutted the POE capability of this switch compared to it’s first generation. The POE budget is 42 watts that makes no sense at all, 60 watts or slightly more would have made more sense given the per port max limit of 32 watts.. I say the same for what they did on the 24 port version. The only consolation is that some WiFi AP’s are only consuming about 6 watts so far, under typical SOHO/SMB operation. It detected my POE devices without issue, and was detected by my cloud key device right away, so adoption was as simple as logging in to my existing test network to set it up. The switch is completely silent, it stays cool to the touch in my wiring closet and has done everything i’ve asked of it so far with no issue.

This switch is connected to my home network, running 100% Ubiquiti equipment. This switch replaced the 8 port 150w switch which I now use for miscellaneous projects. Setup was fast and easy. Each port can be configured for VLANS, APs, or other devices for a custom setup.

Bought this for a client that needed switches on two floors. I like that this is silent. If you buy this, be sure to notice that this only has 8 PoE ports.
