The line of 1/2 inch impact sockets, like the 3/8 inch line, is used primarily for automotive maintenance and general mechanical work. They can handle higher torques and require more work space, with wider application ranges. Socket hex size: 3/8 inch – 1 1/2 inch. Torque applications for sockets, handles, and accessories: 1,100 – 5,000 in-lbs. Any URREA product which has not been altered, misused, or abuse, and fails during its normal useful life, will be replaced or repaired at no charge.
- URREA sockets are made of high quality US alloy steel using the exclusive SuperDrive design that allows more torque to be applied
- All URREA impact sockets have a tough blued finish. For FOD (Foreign Object Debris) applications, the use of sockets with a blue finish is recommended so that no coating will flake off
- URREA sockets are manufactured in accordance with ASME/ANSI, US Federal, and SAE specifications
- URREA warrants its product to be free from defects in material and workmanship

Let’s face it. ARP bolts can be downright weird at times. For example, their rod bolts for GM’s LS2 engine are 9mm bolts, but with a 3/8 inch head! This presents a few problems. First of all, many people who work on either import engines or newer American engines don’t have many (or ANY) standard sockets. Secondly, these high strength bolts must be torqued to 45ft-lb (at least for ARP2000). Since a 3/8 inch head is typically used on a 1/4 inch bolt (which is typically tightened to 7-14ft-lb), MOST 3/8 inch sockets are rather light duty. They can’t take this kind of torque – especially when loosening. And finally, your typical 3/8 inch impact socket is a six point socket. Many ARP bolts (including these rod bolts) have 12 point heads. Because of this, a 3/8 inch impact socket simply won’t work. This socket, on the other hand, gives you everything you need for these ARP bolts – a strong 12 point 3/8 inch impact socket. It also has a 1/2 inch drive, which is better for the torque required for this bolt, especially when loosening it.

Only 3/8 12 point I could find, I needed it for ARP bellhousing bolts
