The 1/2” socket line, like the 3/8” line, is used primarily for automotive maintenance and general mechanical work. They can withstand higher torques and more work space is needed to use them, but they have broader application ranges. Socket hex sizes: 1/4” to 1-716” and 8-36mm. Torque applications for sockets, handles, and accessories: 1,100-5,000 in-lbs.
- Fabricated using high-quality micro-alloyed steel, hot or cold forged depending on their size
- Precision machined and heat treated to provide the best combination of hardness, tensile strength and torque strength
- All URREA sockets and accessories have a tough nickel-chromium finish for corrosion resistance. For FOD (Foreign Object Debris) applications, the use of sockets with a blue finish is recommended so that no coating will flake off
- Compliant with American and European domestic and international standards

Not much to report… bought it for water heater rod replace… it fit and it worked. Price was good here too.

I purchased this based on price and for the fact that it had 6 sides, something I needed to ensure I would not strip the anode bolt head. It works with my 1/2″ breaker bar as well as my cheap electric impact wrench. I was able to remove the old anode on the gas water heater tank using this 1-1/16″ impact socket. It fits perfectly, and did the job. I do not care about the finish, but if you do care… this one has a flat finish, and a brand stamped on it that I do not recognize. but it works as expected so I see no reason to give it a less than 5 star rating for quality and value. What else could I expect for under four bucks. This was cheaper than the “non-impact” socket, and for the purpose that I mentioned above, all I need this is about once in a year or two. I expect this to last as long as I live, so yes I am happy with this purchase and I highly recommend this socket to anyone who needs to remove a stubborn water-heater anode.

Haven’t had a chance to use the socket yet, but appeared well made and with a reasonable price.

What can I say, it’s a 1/2 in drive impact socket. It says “Mexico” on it, but it did the job. It appears to be better quality than the China stuff.

I needed to replace the anodes in both my water heaters, which hadn’t been done in 8 years. I owned a 12-point socket, but did not want to risk rounding off the anode fitting. This 6-point socket provided the confidence I needed to progress the project. A cheater bar was necessary to free the anodes, so I feel I made the right decision. Just what I needed at an affordable price.
