Verbatim BD-R Blu-ray 25GB 16x White Inkjet Hub Printable Discs are single-sided, single-layer, write-once Blu-ray recordable discs. They enable recording and playback of high-definition video (HD), as well as storing large amounts of data. A single-layer disc can hold 25GB, which can be used to record over two hours of HDTV.
It uses a blue-violet laser to read and write data while current optical disc technologies such as DVD use a red laser. The shorter wavelengths of the Blu-ray technology make it possible to record more data on the same space. These discs are safeguarded with a superhard coating, which protects against everyday wear and tear.

I’ve been using Verbatim optical media for at least 15 years and I’m never disappointed in them. I’m currently using a Pioneer BDR-2209 (aka BDR-209UBK/XV52) to burn these discs and I’m having no problems. I burn at 12X rather than the 16X maximum rated burn speed.

We are using this product to provide clients with HD blu-ray disks burned from an LG internal blu-ray disk burner that we installed on a Mac Pro computer using FCP7 and it works fine. Nice quick burn and plays successfully on a Sony blu-ray player. The HD was AVCHD shot on Panasonic AG HMC 150’s. We are using Roxio Toast 11 Pro to support the burn and menu creation. It all seems to work well. The Toast 11 has much to be desired however, but gets it done.

If you want discs that are reliable and will never turn into coasters then these are the blu ray discs for you. Verbatim has always been top notch number 1 quality and several cuts way above their competition. They just manufacture these things right. From standard DVD to DVD DL to Blu Ray and to Blu Ray DL (50GB). I use them all. What else can I say.

Ended up purchasing Microboards instead of these because they (BH) were out of Verbatim stock. Microboards showed 2X write speed when inserted to burn in Encore. They also FAILED to burn in Encore as well. Thought I had a bad batch of Microboards so sent them back and was told tough fecal matter, they burn fine in our Microboard burners. He burned / checked 10 discs and then sent them back to me. No refund, no replenishment of the 10 discs he burned, no apologies but a hey, buy a different burner and maybe they’ll be compatible. I own a 6 year old (updated firmwar) LG burner that has NO issues with Verbatims ever just Microboards. Save yourself some headaches and buy Verbatims and not the other brand that MIGHT burn in your burner.

First blu ray discs I’ve bought, very slow to burn out at only 1-2x only a firewire 16x burner.

These are the industry standard blank blu rays – printing on an inkjet printer delivers nice results too No complaints!

Other Verbatim BD-R I purchased in the past have “Verbatim BD-R for Video 25GB 6X” printed along the white side edge -these disks say nothing. But so far they work just fine.

i’ve had a bunch of these printable blank discs throughout the years and have had no problems with them. They’re reliable and if you have a printer that prints on discs these are the only discs you need. Saving media these days people forget that ALL drives eventually fail and don’t realize the importance of burning their media onto things like this.
