Keep your memories safe for years to come with these M DISC BDXL 100GB 4x Single-Sided Discs from Verbatim. The M DISCs in this 5-pack each have a capacity of 100GB, providing plenty of space for storing scientific images, video, and other data. With write speed up to 4x, you’ll be able to copy and store files quickly.
Unlike traditional optical media, which utilize dyes that can break down over time, data stored on an M DISC is engraved on an inorganic write layer so it will not fade or deteriorate. This engraving process renders archival grade discs practically impervious to environmental exposure, including light, temperature, and humidity. Based on ISO/IEC 16963 standard longevity tests, M DISCs have a projected lifetime of several hundred years.

No other storage has as long claimed longevity without corruption. SSD and HD can corrupt, online storage may be simply erased. If you have important data that doesn’t change you should back up to M discs. Family records and key photos are a good use case.

I’m using an LG (WH16NS40) to burn my files. I completely forgot that i bought these in 2018 lol I hadn’t used them until now (Jan 2022) because i didn’t have a drive that could handle M-Discs. I’m using the built-in function in Windows 10 64bit. But i plan to use a specific program to verify the files, since these discs are expensive. I only bought them because i can’t buy more 18TB WD HDDs yet. So far it seems like the files are all there on each disc that i burn.

I used four of these to back up a hard drive. Has no problems with the copying process and I can now rest easy regarding having a safe backup of that hard drive. Well worth the money.

This pack is 6x write speed made in Taiwan vs 4x made in Japan of solo discs I bought last year. Wrote 2 full discs with no verification errors – so far, so good. I’m pleased with MDiscs for archive back up though have had verification errors on about 1/4 to 1/3 of discs in the past (fine with me, no biggie if a picture or two is corrupted). Frankly I’m amazed every time a 100 GB disc burns without a single error. That’s a lot of zeros and ones!

Everything worked as advertised, but due to file system overhead, you get a pinch over 90GB per disk, not 100GB, which is an unformatted number. They work with multiple-sessions, so you can keep adding to the disk.
