The M DISCs in this 25-pack each have a capacity of 100GB, providing plenty of space for storing scientific images, video, and other data. With write speed up to 4x, you’ll be able to copy and store files quickly.
Unlike traditional optical media, which utilize dyes that can break down over time, data stored on an M DISC is engraved on an inorganic write layer so it will not fade or deteriorate. This engraving process renders archival grade discs practically impervious to environmental exposure, including light, temperature, and humidity. Based on ISO/IEC 16963 standard longevity tests, M DISCs have a projected lifetime of several hundred years.

These discs are top quality and the best optical archival solution I have found in the market for long-term data storage. I am getting 4x write speed on Mac Big Sur with Verbatim drive, it is slow but also an engraving process, not a normal burn you would get from CD-Rs with less lifespan. If data integrity and long-term is the goal, this is it.

Buy in Jewel Box! the disc surface had scratched on it toward the center of the disc because it was rotating around the spindle . However all the data was burned.

Great product for backing up my pictures and videos. These Blu-ray discs give me a little extra piece of mind that my pictures and videos have another, durable method of backup.

Although these disks are extremely expensive, they are said to be very robust and durable, and it is claimed that the data will reliable for up to 1000 years! I save a lot of personal and music data that did initially cost me a lot of money so these were a reasonable investment. I have had several conventional CD, DV, and BD disks go bad on me after 5 years or so and that can be very upsetting. If you do the research you will see that right now these are the only high volume, long term solution for your data. Hard drives, BD-Rs, SSDs, and Jump drives all have a relatively short life span, so if you want to access your data 20 years from now, you had better buy some of these. If you can not afford the 25 pack spindle, they also come in 5 packs or in single packages. Just make sure that your BD burner is M-disc compatable.
