The Intuos Pro Paper Edition Creative Pen Tablet from Wacom is a flexible graphical tablet that can be used to digitize your work, and by flexible, we don’t mean bendable. By itself, the Intuos Pro is a standard drawing tablet that connects to your system via USB or Bluetooth. It has eight customizable ExpressKeys and a Touch Ring to assist you with your workflow, and comes with the Wacom Pro Pen 2, which has 8192 levels of pressure sensitivity.
This Paper edition includes a Paper Clip, a Finetip Pen, and ten sheets of A5 paper, allowing you to sketch on paper and store your work without having to be online or connected to a computer. The Intuos Pro is compatible with the Wacom Pro Pen 2, and in “Paper Mode”, you can use either the Finetip Pen, a ballpoint pen, or even a pencil. To share your sketches right away, connect to your iOS or Android device using Bluetooth.

It’s been years since I used a tablet; it’s taking some time to get used to it. I’ve long used a Magic Trackpad with my Mac Pro, so I really like the touch and gesture features of the Intuos Pro. It’s very similar to Apple’s trackpad. The pen is quite sensitive, very easy to use, but will take some time to master. Wacom’s software provides some tutorials for set-up, very helpful. The software seems excellent.I hadn’t expected to care much about the tablet’s wireless capability, but I’ve found that to be quite nice. When doing a major retouch job I can place the tablet in my lap, no wires in the way.A minor quibble: the touch sensitivity is much less than Apple’s Magic Trackpad. I sometimes must tap several times before it registers; tapping a bit harder seems to help. Also, the Medium is fairly large, with several inches of dead space to the right of the active area. It makes the tablet feel a bit bulky.

I’m still learning to use my tablet. It’s a bit challenging at first, but can already tell that it will be a great time saver for me when editing photos once I get it all figure out and customized.

I have been using the Wacom Medium for about 2 weeks now and find it to be one of the best pieces of gear out of my camera bag. I am a Lightroom CC users and this product make you feel so much closer to your photo edits. It gives you the full control of your edits and makes you much more involved in your finished product.

The Wacom Intuos5 tablet has made using PhotoShop tools so much more exacting! I’ve only had it for just over a week, but have already had fun getting used to the various effects possible. The pen-pressure sensitivity gives me amazing control and creative ability. I’m definitely on the learning curve and trying to intelligently set up the multiple functions available with my Wacom, I think that’s the hard part. As a photographer I know I’ll love it when using PhotoShop and Lightroom, things I’d never be able to do with a mouse. I’m impressed with the many express keys that can be set up for different functions in each computer program. So glad I choose the Wacom Intuos5 tabletnot turning back. I’m looking forward to what I’m going to learn this year!

I have been using the Wacom tablet and Cintiq for years to edit design work and paint. Having purchased the largest 9 x 12 version in the past, I found it was great for the desk, but too large to pack and carry on trips with my laptop. The medium format is just the right size, matching my 17 laptop and fits perfectly in the carrying case for both when traveling. I do a lot of painting with these products, and the pressure characteristics of the tablet are a must in replicating accurate paint strokes with the art pen and regular pen.

I find that the tablet is much more accurate than the mouse. It takes some getting used to but I have really been enjoying it. Now don’t get me wrong I still use the mouse so there is a bit of juggling going on at the moment as the tablet is still new to me. But so far I really like it and I’m still learning a lot of its features

This is a no brainer when it comes to processing photos in PhotoShop or similar. Hundred times better control than a mouse. This is my second one (first one was the wired model. Great purchase.

I am usually pretty skilled and not klutzy in dealing with input devices, ie trackpads, mouse, etc, but the wacom is tougher to use. Yes, there are sliders to make it more or less sensitive, but the point is there is a learning curve to this device and my finger and hand muscles ached after the first time I used it. On subsequent times it became easier and I fully get how this device is a very useful adjunct to post processing, very happy I have it. The sensitivity settings make spot brush corrections SO much more controllable. I have the small and it takes a considerable amount of real estate on my desk. I am working with a 27 MAC and is is plenty big enough—the medium would be too big for my application. I also do not feel it completely eliminates the need for a trackpad or mouse as some say. At this point I will use it for photo editting, but my magic trackpad is there when I am not. Again, glad I do have it

Once you use it for your photography post processing you can’t go back

New to editing with Wacom Tablet. Installed fine but gave me a few driver errors. Getting used to working with it. Will update review once the new MAC updates comes out. Drivers are supposed to not be compatible Hoping Wacom resolves this issue, otherwise this tablet will not be useful.

Just switched to this model after using an Intuos 3 for the past 8 years (it still works, but has worn out quite a bit). The hardware is beautiful, the pen works as expected, touch is mostly OK (not always as responsive as expected). But the wireless connection is rather unstable, disconnecting every now and then, the battery level indicator is all over the place, plus the driver doesn’t play that nice with Photoshop CC 2017 (keyboard commands stop working randomly, precise cursors don’t show size when pressing Caps Lock etc.). FYI, I am using the latest driver downloaded from Wacom on an iMac with the MacOS 10.12.2.

I shoot only large, raw image files and use Capture One Pro. Looking back, I don’t know how I managed without this tablet.

Couldn’t run the setup app because Windows would only run an app if it comes through the Windows Store. The work around was to copy setup app to a flash drive and then execute app from the flash drive. Then, and only then, did the setup app work. After that everything was fine. Wacom was no help at all and Microsoft would not give me anything even though they new of the problem. Because Wacom was useless I can only give the product 4 stars.

This is a great pen & touch tablet to draw & edit photos with. BUT the active area gets scratches way too easily. Perhaps, I just have a heavy hand… I am disappointed because I already got a few scratches(battle wounds). I would recommend getting a screen protector before use… Also, my nib wore down pretty fast. It already wore down after a few hours! (again maybe it’s the heavy hand) The set up was easy. The free programs are useful. Overall a good purchase.
