The Intuos Pro Creative Pen Tablet from Wacom is a flexible graphical tablet that can be used to digitize your work, and by flexible, we don’t mean bendable. It has customizable ExpressKeys and a Touch Ring to assist you with your workflow, and comes with the Wacom Pro Pen 2, which has 8192 levels of pressure sensitivity. When combined with the separately sold Paper Clip, Finetip Pen, and paper, the Intuos Pro becomes the Intuos Pro Paper Edition, allowing you to sketch on paper and store your work without having to be online or connected to a computer. I got this and within a couple hours my photo editing times are much faster than the old mouse I’ve used all this time. As a wedding photographer, editing photos in Lightroom by just touching and dragging the sliders is a dream and when you consider the seconds saved over every photo in a wedding, it ads up to hours saved each job. This probably has paid itself off in the first week in time saved, in my opinion. I would highly recommend getting a texture sheet when you order it, though. The nibs wear to a point really fast, I started keeping a piece of printer paper nearby to wear the points off as the form as I didn’t want to replace nibs every night, but even then I’m seeing lots of scratching happening on the pad which is disappointing for something I’ve only had a week. It comes with texture samples for you to try and I preferred the texture that it comes with. Just wanted that disposable layer to protect the tablet itself.

I have used a Wacom tablet since the mid-1990s both at work and home as a writer/graphic artist. This slimmer, yet, with a smaller over-all size (meaning less desk space taken, but same active tablet space) the Intuos Pro Paper is another in the fine Wacom tradition of user features and upgrades. There is no mouse with this device, so if you ever want to use such an input device, be advised. The tablet’s active area serves s both a gestures device and, with InkSpace, can capture your drawings with paper placed over the active area and secured with the paper clip. This device satisfies both the analog and the digital artist in its users.

LOVE this tablet, just need a smaller one. I thought I’d like the extra working space, but it is too heavy and bulky to travel with, so I’m sending mine back for the smaller version.

Should have purchased this long ago! Initial setup (connecting and loading driver) easy. Adjusting to the touch and where and what things are takes a little time, now more than most tools and less than most. Overall it has decreased work time and increased accuracy in my work. I use it with Photoshop and Lightroom. Overall I absolutely love it. Glad I didn’t get the large size, would have had no room on my desk for it.

Over the years I’ve had a few Wacom devices attached to different systems running Windows XP, 7, and now 10. Never have I had an easy time setting up, retaining settings, or installing drivers. The Intuos Pro is great when it works, but if Windows suddenly decides to update itself, the drivers get hijacked and the loses its functionality with the OS. I’ve never understood how Wacom and Microsoft play so poorly together, but until they do, this gets 2 stars. Honestly, it’s been headache after headache with these tablets and look forward to a day when another company gives them a run. I understand that I’m probably in the minority, but this has been my experience as a competent, seasoned PC and Photoshop user. To top it off, their support is very poor and are generally slow to respond. Futhermore, the email address which I’ve signed in to their site with for 10 years is now deemed to be an ‘unknown email address’. So much for downloading my settings file from their cloud.

I had the Medium for over a decade, I recently purchased the newer small and it is great. I don’t miss the extra space at all. I use it for Surface Pattern Design and Photography.

Works great – love it. I did have to install the drivers a couple times before it took, but after that no problems. Very accutate, wireless works, great product. Love the size – not too big, not too small.

Having owned several Wacom Intuos tablets over the years, I was already convinced this newer IntuosPro Medium would be a good choice. It is a smaller form factor than my older Intuos3, but with a similar working area making it far more convenient and comfortable to use. Once properly installed, the performance and accuracy are top-notch. I work primarily with Photoshop, Illustrator, and Manga Studio Pro as a working artist and professional designer. What surprised me was how much I now use this IntuosPro tablet’s touch features for basic OS operations (both Windows and OSX). I may retire my mouse. Of the drawbacks, and there are not many (Wacom has been at this for quite a while and they really get the important stuff right) – driver conflicts (with my older Intuos drivers). This is clearly a user error, however it did cause me grief using the newer tablet out of the box. Once properly uninstalled and re-installed the device worked like a charm. Second, the USB connection at the tablet does feel a bit soft and I fear it may loosen up over time. The wireless works very well most of the time, however I may have caused interference with a Logitech Wireless keyboard which uses a similar bandwidth.

I recently updated my out-of-support Wacom Intuos 2 tablet/pen/mouse for the Wacom Intuos Pro tablet/pen. I was intrigued by the Capture One and Wacom webinar I watched a few months back and looked forward to increased workflow effeciency. The Intuos Pro arrived late on Friday. Downloading the latest version of the driver (6.3.20.4), I began the installation and customization process on my iMac running OS X 10.12. I ran into a driver issue fairly soon. When using one of the Express Keys on the side of the tablet, the driver would lock up with a warning beep and all functionality except registering the pen’s tip pressure would stop working. I tried killing the WacomTabletDriver but it would never start back up without a reboot. I tried back leveling the driver to the previous version (6.3.19.10) even though back leveling the driver does not allow importing the user preference file from a later driver. I’ve rebooted my iMac more times over the weekend than I have in the last year. I found no postings anywhere about the symptoms I was experiencing, including Wacom’s FAQ. As there is no tech support over the weekend, I had to wait for Monday morning to call Wacom. It is a known (to them) driver problem and the solution was to back level 6 versions to 6.3.15.3. Again I had to re customize the preferences for use in Capture One. Now I wait to see if it works. After back leveling the driver, Wacom tech support did mention that there was another work-around. When the Wacom driver locks up, restore the user preferences backup file (*.wacomprefs) file forces a restart of the driver without the need for a reboot. I wish I had know that sooner.

We use the Intous Pro Paper Large primarily with AI to make vector art for screen printing. It is fantastic! It has really done wonders for our work flow. The size of the work area is great and the new design is very sleek. I use the paper mode most on airplanes when I am sketching design concepts as I travel. It is really nice to be able to have digital designs ready as soon as I hook it up to my computer. I like the feel of the pen on the tablet with the stock serface and the ability to customize the button function to the specific program you are using is great!

Since I will mainly be using it for photo retouching it takes a lot of getting used to. If I had the money the one with the display would be more intuitive this one is going to take some practice.

I don’t know why I waited so long to get the tablet. I bought it for photo editing and it’s ideal. Get some advice/training on how to set it up. It’s very feature rich but many of them seem to be more trouble than they are worth (I turned off the buttons on the pen because I kept pressing them in error.) The small one is more than big enough for single screen photo editing. This is something I wasn’t sure about then I chose the small but I’m glad I did.

I’m new to pen tablets but wanted the precise control for creating masks that you just can’t get with a mouse. I haven’t used it a lot yet, and it takes some getting used to if you haven’t used one before, but it is definitely the way to go. I can’t compare to other tablets, but it installed with no problems and works great.

she is an ilustrator and makes characters for game boards and video games, the touch tablet was just perfect for her and everything that came with it was for sure very convinient.

I bought the tablet to use with Lightroom and Photoshop. After a month, I am still finding it a little difficult to use: it is sensitive sometimes when I don’t expect it and insensitive sometimes when I expect it. I find that I use my mouse (which continues to work even when the tablet is working) for everything but these applications. In Lr and Ps I use the tablet as a big touchpad for getting around on the screen before typing; it seems to work more consistently. All that said, for working on images in the two programs the pen and tablet combination seems much more natural than a mouse. I won’t switch back.

As I said the PTH451 is everything I needed and was looking for. I had a small dum issue with the pen tool. I called Wacom, they answered what I needed. If your looking for a tool for photo retouching this is it.
