I’ve been a long time user of a Wacom tablet & this very same stylus, however, my old stylus has a slight crack in it. I thought I better purchase a new one just in case the old one quits. Tried it out, love it! Can’t create without it.

This pen gives you excellent control over calligraphic and fan brushes in Photoshop. A real pleasure to use. Keep the normal pen handy though, as it does not have an eraser end. I will thoroughly enjoy having this option for painting and especially hand lettering projects.

I was inspired to purchase this due to the lack of physical rotation on the standard Grip Pen that came with my 2011 & 2012 Wacom Cintiq 12wx tablets. I use GNU/Linux and saw that Krita got support for rotation based on this pen’s actual rotation a few years ago. I need only make the change to the rotation option in each brush’s settings for it to work with each: the toolbar’s Edit Brush Settings-General-Rotation and check the Rotation box in the enabled Pen Settings. It’s important that this still comes with the full nib selection for full realism, but like the others I prefer the plastic one as it seems less likely to wear out than the marker/brush-feeling options. And, yes this is quite a light pen, but I don’t mind that. It would be nice if it had an eraser, but the keyboard’s ‘E’ (or the use of the Grip Pen) for it works for me.

This pen is only for Wacom Intuos 3 tablets and came without any instructions. It has not button like the regular pen so this pen is only for drawing and painting. I can not find a way to customize it with my tablet at this point but I’m still looking. It is nice to paint have the brush rotate but I need to lift up the pen to change the brush angle/direction. I use Corel painter 2016 and still need to figure out the best way to work with it. Update to come later.

The driver does not relay nib **shape** information to photoshop or other software along with tilt/rotation/pressure to get the calligraphic effect which one logically assumes must the point of such a pen. You still have to select/create a calligraphic brush shape in your software, just as you would with a standard pen with a bullet-shaped nib (e.g.: the grip pen). Also, only a single point can be registered as the x:y location on the screen so calibration is pretty much impossible since it all depends on which part of the nib is in contact with the screen/tablet. Note that this is unrelated to the universal parallax problem of the screen itself, although together these 2 problems make for a lot of frustration as each is compounded by the other. All in all… disappointing.

After getting several (3) new 4×5 Intuos3 tablets without styluses for cheap, the hard reality that the *stylus’* will never be cheap, sunk in. 🙂 This Art Pen is a minimalist Wacom stylus designed without an eraser and no side button(s). It does however provide rotation; perhaps that will come in handy at some point. As pens and stylus’ go it has no heft whatsoever – it weighs nothing. In that regard just pretend it is a thin quill rather than a blaupunkt pen.. if your psyche relies on real-world analogs. Otherwise it is perfectly responsive. Also the shape and feel is so distinct, that that may appeal to you as well – just to add to your collection. Another reviewer commented on the number of nibs it comes with favors the lousy soft ones in count; I agree: The one hard nib that it comes with seems the most useful, and probably the only one I will use as well. Note that the nibs for this thing can potentially slip out of the pen much easier than other Wacom pens. I have to say that is the single most negative thing one could say about the Art Pen. Anyway, all really I needed was a less expensive Wacom stylus for my cheap tablets and this fills the bill. I have since found a stylus amongst my clutter I thought I had lost, so now I just need One-More-Stylus . . . Though the 6D Art Pen is cheapER than other Wacom offerings, it honestly isn’t so inexpensive to make getting yet one more of these an easy decision.

I was pleased to find the 6D Art Pen on B&H. This is 2008 tech with 1024 touch levels, not 2048, as newer Pens have. But this older tech is required for my two Wacom Tablets: CintiQ 12WX and 20WSX which will not work with newer Pens. Works perfectly, I’m happy to have this tool. The 6D Art Pen will work with newer tablets, albeit at the 1024 touch levels.

I ordered this pen after looking online and checking compatibility with my Cintiq 21UX. Apparently the pen is compatible with the older model of the 21UX, but not the newer, which I have, I had to return the product, and eat the cost of shipping. It was a frustrating let down after being excited to use the product.
