We installed a ring 2 doorbell and made sure the batteries were fully charged and then left Florida for New York. within a few weeks the batteries were dead and our doorbell stopped working.Since we installed the doorbell on our Florida Condo, which has good sun in the afternoon, we decided to buy this solar charger even though the reviews were not so good on other sites.Well, since installing, 3 months now, our battery is reading fully charged. IT WORKS GREAT FOR US!! We can leave now for months and not worry about the batteries dying. Even when you have a few rainy days here, the battery only falls down maybe 10%I think the fact that we get good sun is what makes this great. I would highly recommend if you are going to install it where it would get sun

Although a review on the site suggested the Ring Doorbell2 Solar Charger did not work, I installed it and it has maintained the charge at a stable level. I would definitely revcomend it.

This is my second Wasserstein solar charger for the Ring Doorbell 2. The solar panels on the first one began to cloud over and deteriorate and they refunded the money since they were out of stock on this model for the non-2020 version of the Doorbell 2. Despite that I still give it a 5 star rating. I have used both the Ring solar charger and the Wasserstein solar charger for the Ring Doorbell 2. The Wasserstein has a larger solar panel surface area than that of the Ring. The Ring chargers do not really charge the doorbell. They are designed to slow the discharge to extend battery life. I have found that the OEM brand barely does that despite full sunlight. The Wasserstein solar charger tends to keep the charge level fairly high. In fact, I did not have to swap out the battery for a year. The replacement that I just installed seems to be keeping at least a maintenance charge despite the colder weather and less sunny days of the mid-Atlantic region weather.
