Easy installation. Perfect for what I needed it for – to back up all professional pictures I take and keep them separate from my personal files. I like the small size, especially compared to my other 500 gb WD external hard drive that I have had for several years.

Works well, plug & play. Increased capacity of P/S 4 was 500GB, now can get many games with out deleting others.

I was in a crunch & this was the only drive big enough at Best Buy that I could buy. Worst mistake ever. Bought the drive during the day, transferred everything, that night it started slowing down with the transfer rate, then the next night it bricked. This is supposedly a very common thing with these cheap drives. Many who don’t complain say they have more than 2 more to back up on. Which seems ludacris to me. I would rather spend a lot on a very reliable SSD, instead of buying 4 or more of the same cheap drive that is gonna brick over time. Don’t make my mistake if you’re a videographer working with 4k quality and up files.

I love the quality and easy setup. It connected to Time Machine fairly quickly. I like the backup software that comes with it. The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars is that the USB connection is next to the flashing on/off light. I would have preferred to seen the light on the opposite end of the USB connection. Other that that it performs well

Passport external hard drives are still my favorite hard drives for backing up files.

I was disappointed that the hard drive did not come with a direct usb-c to usb-c cable like my last one did, but an old cable plus an adapter. It also did not come with a case and again my last one – the exact same thing – did. Not sure why the changes but feels like it’s an older model then.

Always reliable, I have 5-10 drives all WD, they have all served me well. Store plenty of pictures. Great purchase

I like this product. My only problem was the cable that came with needed to be replaced. WD is in the process of replacing it. I had it set up with Time Machine, and often Time Machine couldn’t find the disk. This is the only time I’ve ever had a problem with any WD external hard drive. I use them all time.

Ideal for use when travelling (to upload photos).

Not too bulky for a 1TB, perfect size.

I have dozens of these drives and they are very reliable as a backup solution.

I’ve always had good luck with the Passport external hard drives. Presently have 4 3tb drives and several 2 tb drives, none of which have ever had a problem. So far this 5tb drive is working flawlessly. It is, btw, actually physically smaller that the previous 3tb drives and although it claims 5tb, it is actually 4.5tb. I reformatted it, as I do with all my hd purchases to get rid of the bloatware that I never use anyway.

I’ve only had it for a couple of weeks, but it’s simple to use. It’s user-friendly. Just plug it in and look it up in your finder, follow setup instructions and you’re good to go. I just wish Western Digital would make one of these things with more memory (i.e., 10TB).

Plug and play; just the way I like it; I’ve had several WD portable drives and have never had a problem. The transfer speeds from my iMac are quite fast. Remember the days of the big, clunky external drives you had to plug in? I’m glad those days are over.

Simple. Easy to use. Comes with encryption and password software. One cord for both connectivity and power. Small and portable. Somewhat misrperesented as the total memory available is closer to 3.6 TB and not the full 4TB as advertised.

I attached this to a brand new 27 iMac to increase the storage, and for Time Machine backups, etc. It was very easy to set up and is working perfectly for my needs. I love the size and portability of this hard drive. Have nothing but good things to say about this drive. I’ve always been partial to Western Digital drives and this one does not disappoint.

This is the greatest external hard drive I have ever used. It’s only about the size of a deck of cards or a smartphone and only about 1/2 inch thick. It uses USB and gets it’s power from the computer without the need of additional power. Holds thousands of pictures and also works as a great backup. Definitely recommended.

Great brand, super reliable and because it is smaller it is much more portable

I’ve been using these as my work drives for a while now. Keep one as my main and one as a backup. They are affordable and fast enough to allow me to edit video. Only just got this model but love how small it is now!

A very compact and sleek design. I’ve been using it to backup raw photo/video files without any issues. It is fast and reliable.
