I love my WD hard drives!

I purchased this drive to create images for my desktop and laptop PC’s. Good security for ransomware. Disconnected from all the PC’s and the home network. Put it on the calendar to run a new image once a month.

No complaints, works well with MacBook Pro. Plug it in and it works…

The WD 2TB Passport is easy to use, although my computer guru had me install a great free software for backups, which I use instead of the WD software. It’s much faster than I anticipated it would be, since it is an analogue not ssd drive. Can’t go wrong and the price is right.

I recently received this external hard drive but don’t plan to use it until probably the end of the year. I have a blue 4TB My Passport that I’ve been using for several years with no problems, so am hoping this one gives good service also.

If there was a way of giving this 0 stars I would. I bought this drive in December of 2021. It has been sitting on my desk since just after Christmas. It has never been dropped, it has never even so much as been moved. No sooner was I finished ripping some 2500+ CDs to FLAC than the drive just started clicking. Click, click, click. Nothing seems to work. I’ll try plugging it into a Linux laptop & see if I can at least retrieve my files.

My iMacs have developed into the most critical tools I have in helping to preserve my memory as I approach old age. A minor technical fluke recently made me aware of how totally dependent I am on having my computers available at all times. I am using these Portable Hard Drives to provide total backups in the event of computer failure. When I first installed them, it took 9-10 days for them to become fully loaded, but there was no interruption in computer use. They are so small, I forget that they are even in place. The cost of the units is minuscule compared to the peace of mind they provide. It is very comforting to know that years of labor is safely stored.

Used as my offsite backup drive. Small, compact, large storage and just works.

Using this to back up image files. Very small footprint on my desk. About size of deck of cards but thinner. Only using the USB 2.0 with it but that is fast enough for what I do. Had it only couple weeks and is working fine. Was plug and play with my Imac. Probably get a few more in near future.

Using this for storing games it’s great!

Small, easy to transport and use. It is also quiet and has a light to show you that it is connected. Just plug in and go!

Bought two of these and use them all the time! Fast transfer and very compact… Definitely recommend!

Compact little external drive. This drive needs power so don’t share an unpowered hub with other drives. Drive made a clicking noise until I plugged into its own USB port after I read clicking is a common problem when drives share an unpowered hub.

I needed a larger backup for all my footage from the last two seasons of wildland fire. This drive will serve that purpose perfectly at a decent price and leave room for next season as well.

nice form factor, works well but usb connector a bit flimsy

I love the plug and play functionality of this hard drive very easy to setup and use. Its fairly small so it doesn’t take up much desk real estate at all either. The fact that it is 5TB is a plus as well. Very pleased with my purchase!
