Little footprint, BIG bang for your bucks! Love this hard drive.

I got this to use as a Time Machine backup drive for my mac, and the first one failed within 3 months. After paying to have it replaced (under warranty I might add), the second one failed within less than a year. Would not recommend it. While they worked, they were just fine, but its the unreliability on TWO of them that makes me write this.

The perfect match for my MacBook Pro. In fact it looks like it was built to sit next to it. Love the fast transfers with USB 3… and love that I don’t have to plug it in.

I have a 3-year old macbook pro which contained over 700,000 items to be backed up. I connected it to this external hard drive and used time machine which worked smoothly. This was such a great buy and it got the job done. I recommend it for anyone wanting to use time machine.

short and sweet: 1) it works fine 2) its quiet 3) price is right

I like a lot, very slick and easy to use. I use it mainly to back up my macbook pro and also works great with my time machine!!

Bought this unit to replace a duplicate unit that died almost to the day the return warranty expired.

I needed a low cost, fast external drive to store data and applications. This one does the trick. I have been using it steadily for about 2 weeks now and it has proven to be a winner.

Was extremely seamless to set up and use. Came in the nick of time as I wanted to update and preserve my files, pictures and music. Only issue was I had to format the drive myself which took me some time as I’m not really computer savvy.

I plugged the Passport into my Mac, followed the online directions and Time Machine did the rest. The compactness of the Passport make carrying it easy.

No issues to use. Good capacity.

The external hard drive worked better than expected. Very easy to store data on and to retrieve data.

My original 1TB hard drive for my Mac Mini Time Machine stopped working and I needed to replace it. Before I purchased this WD hard drive I had tried another model purchased at a local store that I had to return because it needed to be re-formatted for Mac and it did not work with my system. This WD Passport was a delight; small like an iPhone, just plug it in, install the soft ware, and ready to go. I am checking it from time to time and it’s recording everything automatically like it should. No problem so far, and I love it.

It has so far done everything that I have needed it to do. Set up was easy, shipping was fast. If you are looking for one of these for the ps4, I highly recommend.
Alfonzo Braun (verified owner) –
WD is always good and the price makes it great at B&H.
Roderick Schultz (verified owner) –
No problems with this unit which is big enough to store all my data.

Had a different vendor’s hard drive. I took it back when I got to the part where the instructions said to reformat my computer’s file system to….wait for it….Microsoft’s file system. ThisWD, by contrast, is truly “plug and play.” Works on my latest Apple Air, iPads (old and newer), and three other Mac devises. (No. I am not getting Paid by WD!). (Full disclosure: Everything is now on there, but I have yet to pill anything off. )

Easy to install. Already formatted for Mac. Quiet and elegant, it sits nearby, works silently.
