I bought this to use as a redundant data backup. The USB 3.0 transfer speed is great and is a great value at only $80 for 1 TB. I also made use of the password protection for the drive which works immediately upon the drive being plugged in.

I got this for my laptop and it works well. Easy to use and has good instructions. Lots of storage space as well! I won’t need to get a new one for a while, even with all the pictures I take. Glad I purchased.

i bought this to back up my pictures every time i plug it in it asks me to register it which i did the first time i plugged it in. Still have not been able to back up anything on Windows 11 and this is a BrandNew desktop computer

I use heavy duty RAID 1 drives and expensive RAID 0 drives for video editing. I’ve backed up on these WD Passport drives and have even done some editing on them and have never had a problem. Great product. Reliable.

This is my third Passport Drive; so far they have all worked flawlessly. And B&H has once again been a pleasure to deal with.
Nelson Lowe (verified owner) –
Very small, silent drive, half the size of my WB 1TB drive yet much faster. I did get an accurate time, but it copied my laptops 500gb of data, music and photos in about 3 hours I believe.
Chance Rice (verified owner) –
I find it hard to believe this much memory has become so affordable. Reasonably strong build, reads and writes as advertised. WD always delivers. Used on an ROG Strix – Windows 10

I purchased this drive to use while traveling. Always want to back up my photos while on the road. Good size for my needs.
Cheyanne Fay (verified owner) –
Came with USB cable, plugged into USB3 socket, installed WD software that is on the drive, and backed up over half a terabyte onto it in a reasonably short amount of time. But, for true redundant backup, I think I need another!
Julianne Renner (verified owner) –
This drive is very handy for backing up files. It’s a good value for the storage size. For a 5600 RPM portable drive, it’s also fairly fast, and a noticeable speed improvement from the WD Elements.
Brett Keeling (verified owner) –
Western Digital My Passport Portable offers a large capacity and fast performance in a compact, good-looking external hard drive. Fast and easy to use and the price was right.
Darrion Fay (verified owner) –
With the small footprint of USB powered drive, it brings 5TB capacity with affordable price. This is just right for backups. It is 5400 drive, do not expect 7200 speed or SSD for raw video editing application.
Beverly Green (verified owner) –
Works great. Suggested by B&H and I purchased. Does what I expected. Thanks

Western Digital has been my go-to for years! They make it easy and affordable to get all my video clients organized and backed up!
