Built with the power to handle small- to medium-sized business NAS environments and increased workloads to SoHo (Small Office and Home Office) customers, the 12TB Red Plus 7200 rpm SATA III 3.5″ Internal NAS HDD from WD is made for archiving and sharing, as well as RAID array rebuilding on systems using ZFS and other file systems in NAS arrays with 1-8 bays. This 12TB drive operates using a SATA III 6 Gb/s interface, a 256MB cache, and a rotational speed of 7200 rpm, all of which help to ensure uninterrupted data transfers with a sustained rate of up to 196 MB/s. This drive also features high levels of reliability, with 600,000 load/unload cycles, <1 in 1014 non-recoverable read errors per bits read, error recovery controls, and 1 million hours MTBF. Also built into this drive are noise and vibration protection and WD’s NASware 3.0 helps increase system compatibility, allowing WD Red Plus drives to be more easily integrated with your existing network infrastructure.

Purchased these drives to replace 2 4TB Red CMR units in my Synology NAS to increase space. So far so good. A little noisier than the lower RPM 4’s but expected. Delivery was packed well in retail condition and B&H timing was excellent. Pricing was below other retailers. I would definitely buy from them again.
