Built with the power to handle small- to medium-sized business NAS environments and increased workloads to SoHo (Small Office and Home Office) customers, the 14TB Red Plus 7200 rpm SATA III 3.5″ Internal NAS HDD from WD is made for archiving and sharing, as well as RAID array rebuilding on systems using ZFS and other file systems in NAS arrays with 1-8 bays. This 14TB drive operates using a SATA III 6 Gb/s interface, a 512MB cache, and a rotational speed of 7200 rpm, all of which help to ensure uninterrupted data transfers with a sustained rate of up to 210 MB/s. This drive also features high levels of reliability, with 600,000 load/unload cycles, <1 in 1014 non-recoverable read errors per bits read, error recovery controls, and 1 million hours MTBF. Also built into this drive are noise and vibration protection and WD’s NASware 3.0 helps increase system compatibility, allowing WD Red Plus drives to be more easily integrated with your existing network infrastructure.

Bought four of these for use with an OWC ThunderBay. So far, so good. I’ve always had good luck with these WD NAS drives.
Abbey Gutmann (verified owner) –
Amazing drive that runs perfectly with any Synology or NAS server and is highly recommended by many producers, creatives and IT technicians for longevity of the drive! Must have for any NAS
Maria Reynolds (verified owner) –
No issues, except why can’t they label these to true size. I got 13.2 GB formated Fat32
Arne McClure (verified owner) –
I ordered 4 of these drives for a NAS. As soon as I installed them in the NAS, two of them failed to be recognized and have to be replaced. Dead on arrival. The other two are fine, but my faith in these drives definitely took a hit.
Ahmad O’Keefe (verified owner) –
bought it as 2nd drive for My Cloud NAS, inserted it on July 17th and it stopped working (failed) on August 6th, worked for only 20 days i hope they replace it
Alycia Metz (verified owner) –
Value per dollar is much higher than any drive I’ve ran before. Very quick to spin up and the price is beautiful indeed. Love my Reds.
Liza Nolan (verified owner) –
I expect no less than problem-free operation and that’s what I’m getting with four of these WD Red Plus 14TB drives in my new Synology NAS DS920+ system. I also bought this fifth drive in the highly unlikely event that I should lose one of the four drives in operation :-).

Bought it during a discount, and no complaints on it. Works great in a NAS environment.
