I could not even return to B&H because i did not open my package until after x mas feb 14!

This is a really good speed drive for SATA and even more quieter than WD RED NAS 7200 drives i purchased previously! Very good speeds achieved via RAID-10 compared with RAID-1 before.

This is packaged for retail sale. However, inside is a standard latest-release DC HC510 drive, with He10 Helium technology. Comes with full five year factory warranty (easily checked by testing the S/N at hgst.com/portal/site/en/support/warranty/ ) These are the highest-performance, lowest power, most reliable HDD’s out there.
Dana Renner (verified owner) –
Drive is quiet and efficient.

I purchased two and one was DOA. B&H replaced it no issues, however it brings into question is WD is lowering their quality standards to bring the price down. The replacement works just great and both easily hit their rated speeds. Here’s to hoping they last like my previous WD drives.
Taryn Jast (verified owner) –
I installed one as my primary desktop drive and purchased a second to use to clone the primary for a backup. Relying on the 2 million hour MTBF.
Kylee Koepp (verified owner) –
These are much quieter then the WD Black HDD.

I bought this to replace a 7-year old Seagate (7200 rpm 1TB) that crashed on me last week. I’ve no complaints about the lifespan of that drive, but saw better reviews for WD (that, and I had a second same-age Seagate drive die within two days). Swapping this drive out for the old one was a breeze, and no complaints thus far. The drive isn’t noisy, and I’ll see how this one holds up.

Does everything you expect a hard disk to do. Delivered fast, packaged well.

Ordered item a few weeks ago to use as a spare drive in a new NAS. The drive unfortunately, is not functional. I now have an overpriced paper weight. Will be interesting to see how/if i can get this replaced.

I purchased this to replace a video drive in my desktop computer. So far so good, really easy to install and format, seems to be very fast. I’m very happy with this purchase!

The WD Ultrastar Data Center rated drives are heavy. You can feel the quality. If you’re debating between a Data Center drive and a less expensive one, consider how important your data is, and the cost of failure. These drives are built to last.

Still waiting to see if all five that I ordered certify before passing judgement on them as drives, but I was frustrated to see that they’re all dated December 2020. That means they’ve been sitting on the shelf for over a year and effectively makes the warranty four years rather than five.

would have nothing else in my machine

We bought two drives to make a Raid 1 mirror in a NAS. No issues and very straight forward during the installs.

I bought this to store all my photos, and 14TB gives me a lot of storage. It works fast, but it is much noisier than other slower and smaller internal drives — especially when I copied over a couple of terrabytes of files to it from an external drive. And the 5-year retail warranty is nice to have. I would have rated this 5 stars if it were quieter.

I bought two of these WD 10TB Ultrastar 7200 rpm SATA internal hard drives for my new CyberPower PC and had B&H install them before they shipped the system to me. The first one is for moving photo files in and out to Adobe Lightroom for processing, the second for backup storage of my photo files. This way I keep these data intensive RAW files (and processed jpgs) off of my main PC drives.

B&H delivered as promised. Two 12 TB Ultrastar drives in their original sealed WD retail packaging. Both drives installed in my NAS with zero issues and are performing as expected.

ONLY buy enterprise class hard drives, they cost more but are worth it. Never seen one fail yet… Too bad SATA 3 is still the connection option, for these massive drives, it takes a loooonnggg time to transfer a lot of data.

5 star for the drive performance: installed the drive, and the data transfer is fast as expected. 3 star for the drive noise: the drive is a bit loud when during read/write I give 1 star because over all experience with Western Digital: I wasn’t able to register the product with WD’s online Product Warranty Registration site (at https://support.wdc.com/support/productregistration.aspx). The site does not recognize the serial number. Call the WD support, waited for 30+ minutes, and finally got to a support representative, opened a case, and was asked to send in my proof of purchase and a picture of the drive’s serial number (which by now had already been installed). I was told that the serial number on the box that came with the drive is will not be accepted. So I now have to crack open computer case and remove the drive the take a picture. I SHOULD HAVE READ OTHER COMMENTS GIVEN BY OTHER REVIEWERS.
