Expand the storage on your Windows system and back up photos, video, music, and documents using the silver 2TB My Passport Ultra USB 3.0 Type-C External Hard Drive from WD. This drive is equipped with 2TB of storage and a USB 3.0 Type-C interface. If your computer doesn’t have a USB Type-C port, an included USB Type-C to Type-A adapter helps ensure compatibility with older systems. This drive is also bus-powered, meaning that all its power is provided by the USB cable and no external power cables or adapters are required.
Since WD designed this My Passport Ultra drive for Windows, it comes preformatted NTFS for Windows 10, 8.1, and 7. If you happen to work across both Windows and Mac platforms, WD provides a downloadable NTFS driver for macOS, which enables the reading and writing of this My Passport Ultra drive without any reformatting. Or, make it fully Mac compatible with a simple reformat. Thanks to a 256-bit AES hardware encryption chip, your private files are kept more secure.

Met my expections. Fast USB

Works as expected. I just use it for storing old files. It is fast and compact. I have another WD HD from a few years ago that still works well, so I expect the same reliability as that one.

I needed a reliable portable hard drive to keep my photo editing mobile! This was the answer to being able to edit photos from multiple locations and on multiple devices!

1TB for under $ bucks in a super-compact form-factor. Very please. Was recognized by my iMac immediatley, I formatted with with Disk Utility, and have been using it to clone my main drive with no problems. Very quiet, and the fit and finish is nice, too.

I use this as a backup for my OS X device

This is my second WD Passport, the last was bought in 2007 and is still working great, though only 160 gigs. New drive has a fast transfer and looks to be solidly built.

I particularly like the USB-C connector. Previous old USB drives of mine have been so delicate, wiggle them and they blink and get dismounted. This is much better. And, it comes with an adapter to old USB. Cons: BUT, know how USB-C is nice in you can plug it in either way? Well, this stupid adapter only plugs one way. A cheat to save a few cents. And might violate some licensing agreement to de-feature USB-C that way. Bad move. I reformatted to use on Linux as a software encrypted backup.

I have had WD & Seagate HDs for 15 years. I prefer WD. I had some of my 8-10 year old WD 2TB Hardrives die on me this year, so I bought this to replace them. So far, the speed is faster than my other ones. The USB-C is nice. I have only had it two weeks, so we’ll see if they last 10 years like some of my other HDs.

Works fine, no fuss, no muss. I use it on a Win XP, USB 2.0, system and a Win7, USB 3.0, system. I use Windows utilities, have not tried any of the WD utilities.

This hard drive allows me to store little used information so i can keep my laptop running proficiently. It also gives me a backup if my computer should fail.

I have used several of these over the years. I did have one start giving me error messages occasionally, which is a bit scary. Always managed to get it going again though.

Of all my WD External Hard Drives, this is the only one I ever had to send back for replacement. Of course B&H was on top of getting my issue worked out, but I’ve never had a WD drive fail me before. Locked up right away, thankfully I hadn’t loaded any data on it. I’ve noticed the newer passport drives seem to be, shall we say, not so solid, like the older ones that I own. I will stay loyal to WD, but will look at their other Passport options. Thankfully, all worked out.

I use this to store my photos. Loads of space and getting it for the deal that I got it at was well worth it!!!! Small and conveint to bring with me anywhere!

Works fine. Not as fast as I originally anticipated but seems reliable.

I have bought one before, and I bought it on this website again. The quality is guaranteed.

I own 4 of these things. They are reliable, and easy to use. Compatible with both macs and windows, and last for quite a while. Also good performance drives for small editing projects.

it showed up and when I plugged it into the USB it installed itself like it should but when I removed it and then plugged it back in, it would not find the drive. I ended up removing the software and it is working as a spare storage device
