Expand the storage on your Windows system and back up photos, video, music, and documents using the silver 2TB My Passport Ultra USB 3.0 Type-C External Hard Drive from WD. This drive is equipped with 2TB of storage and a USB 3.0 Type-C interface. If your computer doesn’t have a USB Type-C port, an included USB Type-C to Type-A adapter helps ensure compatibility with older systems. This drive is also bus-powered, meaning that all its power is provided by the USB cable and no external power cables or adapters are required.
Since WD designed this My Passport Ultra drive for Windows, it comes preformatted NTFS for Windows 10, 8.1, and 7. If you happen to work across both Windows and Mac platforms, WD provides a downloadable NTFS driver for macOS, which enables the reading and writing of this My Passport Ultra drive without any reformatting. Or, make it fully Mac compatible with a simple reformat. Thanks to a 256-bit AES hardware encryption chip, your private files are kept more secure.

I use the drive to backup my pc. It is very cheap portable storage that be moved to off-site location. The drive has very fast transfer rate and comes with a backup scheduling software. You can place files on the my-passport and delete them from your PC. The backup software will not delete during the next scheduled backup.

Another quality WD product, Connected immediately and fast as expected, no problems. The device itself seems pretty solid, I purchased a solid case to ensure that it is protected from general hazards like water and dirt. Once plugged in, the HDD offers various applications to protect and backup information as promised by WD. I am very happy with this product and look forward to getting rid of my old WD my book, which is taking up more space than I care to use.

Updated from much older WD 1TB drive large box. The new My Passport is smaller, compact and runs well on USB. The Backup software works well for daily backups. Best feature, NO power supply needed, very portable, fast and ideal for archive backup.

So far I’m really liking the drive. The size is decently portable and it does have quite a bit of space. It’s a tad slow, but somewhat expected for a drive of this class. I used the backup software which seems to run smoothly enough, but only time will tell if it works. I hope this will last me for quite a few years.

Bom custo x benefcio. O programa da WD que vem junto deixa o computador um pouco lento, principalmente se tiver pouca memria. Recomendo s utilizar tais facilidades se necessrio (Backup na nuvem, senha etc.).

Don’t have much to say – it works! Connected to Mac Book Pro to backup NAS. It runs quiet, a bit warm but nothing unusual. Read/write speed is about the same as for Ethernet-connected NAS. All in all, I can recommend this enclosure as a backup solution.

Been using this drive for a few weeks now. Works great, was super easy to format to use with Mac. 3.0 USB is faster than my old drives. I can edit footage easily and directly off of this in premiere pro cc no problems & no dropped frames. Great hard drive.

the passports drive are outstanding and I am big fan. Unfortunately when i read Ultra Portable on the site contrasting with the old model I understood it would be MORE portable than the old model I have – IT’S NOT. Even the picture shows a slighter device but when it comes to a 2TB the size is the same and the old 2TB device… I little frustrated.

Love these drives! I buy them 3 at a time so that I can run backups on multiple computer. One is the main drive and the other 2 act as a backup. They are well priced and very dependable. I will continue to buy them and as the sizes get larger, I will get those as well.
