Expand the storage on your Windows system and back up photos, video, music, and documents using the silver 4TB My Passport Ultra USB 3.0 Type-C External Hard Drive from WD. This drive is equipped with 4TB of storage and a USB 3.0 Type-C interface. If your computer doesn’t have a USB Type-C port, an included USB Type-C to Type-A adapter helps ensure compatibility with older systems. This drive is also bus-powered, meaning that all its power is provided by the USB cable and no external power cables or adapters are required.
Since WD designed this My Passport Ultra drive for Windows, it comes preformatted NTFS for Windows 10, 8.1, and 7. If you happen to work across both Windows and Mac platforms, WD provides a downloadable NTFS driver for macOS, which enables the reading and writing of this My Passport Ultra drive without any reformatting. Or, make it fully Mac compatible with a simple reformat. Thanks to a 256-bit AES hardware encryption chip, your private files are kept more secure.

I use this terrific portable Hard Drive to use with my MacBook Pro. I like how compact it is so that is highly portable very quiet and is built like a tank. Can’t think of anything that is not so great about it. Except, that you have to follow the procedure to set it up if you are using it with a Mac computer. Will have to pass on that one! I HIGHLY recommend this unit. GET ONE!

I edit off the hardrive and store all my videos. You have to change the settings on it so it will be accepted by MAc

I’d already purchased one of these for myself, and it’s been in use for a number of months for backups. One of the backups was crucial as I’d had a meltdown of my internal hard disk, and this saved the day. So, I bought another one for my wife. It had to be red, of course! The USB 3.0 is a speedy transfer, too. B&H always comes through, too, with low price and quick delivery.

I got this to replace a WD 2TB backup drive; the footprint of this drive is the same as my 2TB, but t’s a tiny bit thicker. I’ve only had this for a couple weeks so I can’t comment on long-term reliability, but so far it performs as expected: it’s fast (for a small USB drive), quiet, and doesn’t run hot (to touch) when copying a large number of files at once.
