Store and access up to 4TB of your files in a desktop computer, NAS device, or RAID array using the 4TB Blue SATA III 3.5″ Internal HDD Retail Kit from WD. 4TB will allow you to store movies, photos, music, documents, and much more. Compatible with computers running Windows and Mac OS, this hard drive connects to your system’s 3.5″ bay via the SATA III 6 Gb/s interface.
In terms of speed, this drive operates using WD’s IntelliPower rotational speed. This means that rpm speed of the drive depends on the operations being performed. If the drive is performing mostly sequential reads and writes, its speed will be increased as compared to if it were performing mostly random mode operations. This 4TB drive also features a 64MB cache to help ensure uninterrupted data transfers. Included with this hard drive are mounting screws.

It work with Win 7 32 bit but not with XP SP3 32 bit. It is quite, no comment on the reiability as I was struggling to make it work with XP 32-bit in the last few days. I even partitioned and formatted in a Win 7, but when I put it back to my XP machine, the XP Disk Management failed to pick it up. So you have to up grade OS Win 7 or higher or XP 64 bit system

Drive model WDBH2D0020HNC-NRSN. Haven’t run benchmarks, but performance as expected from a modern 3.5 CMR hard disk. Quieter than my 6 year old Seagate.

I purchase this to replace a failed drive in a RAID enclosure I have. Worked without any problem with the older WD drive in the enclosure.

I’m a wedding videographer that deals with 100gb of audio/video per wedding, so these low cost drives are a very cost effective solution for storing and working with huge video projects.

Good drive, aptly does what it needs to do. Got the drive at a good price at BH. All WD have annoying second hidden reserve partition, use DISKPART to format.

Put 4 of these drives into a Drobo Gen. 3 unit (total of 16TB). The price for the 2 pack was the best I have seen anywhere at the time of purchase. The drives are very quite and do not run hot at all. So far so good and hope it stays that way!

Was looking for a Hitachi 4tb Drive. Found this WD for a good price. Never have gone wrong buying a WD drive till now, rarely crashes, easily recoverable drives. For those buying (my 2cents) buy Hitachi or WD. Stay away from Seagate.

Information on the Website is misleading. It says: Windows and Mac Compatible but on the box it’s says: Compatibility Windows 10, 8.1 (only). That’s why just 3 stars.

This hard drive came in a box with directions and it was easy to install physically and once I got past my stupidity it was easy to install electronically. No problems.

When my backup started failing I realized that I needed a larger backup drive. Looking around the web (Amazon, BestBuy, B&H, Egghead…), found that the best price and fastest shipping was from B&H. No surprises – guys always deliver! Got the drive in a day, installed – my machine is a happy camper. The drive is fairly fast, quiet, and spacious! What else does one need? Go B&H!

The box shows blue, but the drive inside the retail box is a regular WD Green. Slow performance: 5700 RPM. Crystal Disk Mark shows 100MB/sec read/write on a new, empty drive. Quiet, cool, fine for storage and archives and any use where you don’t need breakneck speed performance. The Hitachi 6TB Deskstar HGDSIHD6, which I also got at B&H and is only slightly more expensive, is twice as fast. But it it is also hotter and louder.

Some of the customer reviews on this WD 3TB drive will make you think this is a WD Green Drive. Even the product photos on this B&H product listing will make you think it’s a Green drive but, it’s not. I ordered it and I received a 3TB WD Blue drive. This is what I really wanted anyway but, I was settling for the Green Drive since it seemed like this was all that was available from B&H as WD in 3TBs. I replace my internal boot drives every two to three years and then repurpose them to Time Machine Drives or I put them in less important workstations. But, in the last 10 years, I have never ever had a Western Digital hard drive fail on me. The Seagate drives, fail with predictability, but WD drives are solid for those of us who are using our hardware to make a living. Thank you B&H.
