Fast, fast and even faster. Great for OS and Steam gaming!!!!
Sandy Kuphal (verified owner) –
Super fast for what it is. Boot times are quick and games load so fast I can’t read the loading screen tips anymore.

I’ve been doing a lot of hard drive upgrades for people and the WD blue SSD meets the balance of performance, reliability and price. I’ve installed a lot of these with zero issues.
Yesenia Homenick (verified owner) –
Just as it is. Replaced a standard hard drive. Smooth process without surprise or disappointment.
Margarette Metz (verified owner) –
A drive is a drive, but the bundled Acronis software wouldn’t recognize it. After some back-and-forth with WD, and downloading work-around software which crashed, WD informed me that they don’t support Windows 7. SO much for using this product to update a legacy computer!

You will not believe how much faster an older laptop works when you replace the HDD with a SSD.
Jerrold Gibson (verified owner) –
Easy install/setup in PC. Very fast – of course. Good price. Can’t beat it.
Nathanael Kohler (verified owner) –
A lot of storage space for a good price! Plus it has data migration software included to get your old OS and programs transferred over quickly and efficiently!

I bought this to use it with my Atomos Ninja V. It works great!
Maria Metz (verified owner) –
This SSD is great replacment for the original HD in my old laptop. Much faster now

Everybody should have a SSD boot drive. No reason for HDDs except for massive storage of stuff you don’t need – and that should be off-line anyway. Most laptops were crippled by slow 5400 rpm OEM drives. Replacing with almost any SATA SSD will improve performance of everything you do. Lower power draw will also increase battery time. I do favor drives with some DRAM or SLC caching and at least 500 GB for the added performance. This unit went into a laptop with SATA II 3GB/s. Still a great improvement over the old HDD. My customer was considering a new laptop, but is very happy with the speed now.

Went into my Omen laptop. Easy to use Acronis to clone my previous 2TB Micron. 400MB/s transferring my CFexpress daily images.
Maria McCullough (verified owner) –
Great product, great price, prompt delivery. What more could one ask?

with gen 2 USB 2 external cases. you can expect 500 read and write speeds.

I have been using SSD drives for 6 or 7 years now. with the prices coming down on them, my custom builds are always loaded with them. In my studio desktop where I do audio and video production, I have 3 of the M.2 ssd drives. All are 2 TB in size running on the PCIe 4.0 interface. 2 of these drives are WD drives. Amazing speeds when transferring between the 2 drives. I have slowly removed the other standard HHDs in my system to these mid range SSD drives from Western Digital. I run Vegas Pro 18 video editing software and work with full HD multi cam projects and several 4K video projects. All of the files scattered between the SSD drives of various speeds. Never once get lag, load times with games and Windows 10 are amazing. For the Western Digital drives, the WD app to monitor them works great. Gives cortical info about the drives, easy on the fly trim function, and formats updates if needed. Every system should be running SSDs now at least on the boot drive. They are a game changer!

Right out of the box – into an older Win 7 SATA laptop. No problems loading Win 7 from scratch. Faster (as expected) than ye olde platter drive.
Ibrahim Zemlak (verified owner) –
Great second internal drive for recording.

Super reliable and great speed.

I used this to replace a 256gb drive. So far this is working great and it was at a great price.
