I have been using SSD drives for 6 or 7 years now. with the prices coming down on them, my custom builds are always loaded with them. In my studio desktop where I do audio and video production, I have 3 of the M.2 ssd drives. All are 2 TB in size running on the PCIe 4.0 interface. 2 of these drives are WD drives. Amazing speeds when transferring between the 2 drives. I have slowly removed the other standard HHDs in my system to these mid range SSD drives from Western Digital. I run Vegas Pro 18 video editing software and work with full HD multi cam projects and several 4K video projects. All of the files scattered between the SSD drives of various speeds. Never once get lag, load times with games and Windows 10 are amazing. For the Western Digital drives, the WD app to monitor them works great. Gives cortical info about the drives, easy on the fly trim function, and formats updates if needed. Every system should be running SSDs now at least on the boot drive. They are a game changer!

Right out of the box – into an older Win 7 SATA laptop. No problems loading Win 7 from scratch. Faster (as expected) than ye olde platter drive.

I used this to replace a 256gb drive. So far this is working great and it was at a great price.

These Western Digital drives are great, have installed many for my clients. The real difference is how great B&H is. They are price competitive, website is easy to navigate, and they ship fast! Never have been disappointed with a B&H purchase.

Largest SATA SSD available and also the cheapest 4TB. Perfect for a non-bootable-OS drive of data. First one I bought dropped out (disappeared even in BIOS until cold reboot) several times overnight and had to be returned. B&H return and replacement was smooth and easy. Replacement drive has worked great.

These drives work perfectly

Fast, easy conversion from the standard 1TB to this 4TB. Price and delivery was cheaper and faster than from the manufacturer, too.

Great product, great price, prompt delivery. What more could one ask?

I installed one of these in my recent build and put the operating system on it. Talk about speed! My computer boots in under a minute.

This is our go to drive for replacing old fashioned hard drives that are 1TB or less. This drive gives a great balance of performance and power savings over the old drives.

This SSD is perfect for my external storage needs, though not perfect for everyone and maybe not the best for a system drive. The speeds I get over a fast 10 Gb/sec USB 3.1 connection are just 350-450MB/sec, not very impressive for this type of SSD, slower than other models connected the same way. But good enough for such an affordable SSD (I got mine at a steep discount), and still much faster than any hard drive. If you want an SSD for top speed or long life under heavy daily read/write loads, get a pro SATA or NVMe SSD instead. This WD Blue SSD is a good buy when all you want is more speed than a hard drive, under moderate read/write loads, at a low price. Also good for older computers that don’t have the latest high speed connectors.

I just upgraded my year old iMac 2TB fusion drive to this WD Blue, 4TB SSD, (including labor, 1/3 the cost of Apple new)!!! With installed programs etc., I was nearing 900 Gig, and even with the fusion drive and space becoming a premium. I didn’t like how slow it was becoming to load and work on photo editing, so this was the next step since RAM wasn’t an issue. I the WD Blue 2TB in my 2012, so it was a no-brainer to choose this new 4TB drive. Now Boot up is much quicker; Accessing and working with Lightroom and PhotoShop is almost immediate; And running multiple programs, plugins and another OS is a breese !!!!! The hard part was waiting for the 4TB SSD to come on sale.

A couple of these are used to store my Lightroom and Photoshop libraries and photos. Reading and writing files are fast. I would purchase again, should the need arise.
