A drive is a drive, but the bundled Acronis software wouldn’t recognize it. After some back-and-forth with WD, and downloading work-around software which crashed, WD informed me that they don’t support Windows 7. SO much for using this product to update a legacy computer!

I have several of these drives myself, and I’ve built several systems for others with these. Fantastic drives overall. I’ve been running 3 of them in my system for over 2 years without any issues.The WD dashboard software makes it easy to maintain the drives and use the trim functionality, as well as keep an eye on the life of the drive. My current system I have 3 of the m.2 SSDs on my board. One is 2TB Gigabyte 4.0 PCIE, one ulis a WD Black PCIE 4.0 drive, and the other is a WD 2tb blue SSD. I also have a 2tb SATA WD Blue in my laptop. Although the WD Blue sata SSDs are not as fast as the M.2 PCIE 4.0, they are a MAJOR step up from a standard hard drive. And now that the 4TB drives are becoming a common thing, if you have the budget to load your system with these, GO FOR IT I run a small project studio, and SSD drives are fantastic for video editing and music production.

Great drive for for holding my working files. I had this as an external but decided to install in the computer. Works faster in to computer of course. I got this 2tb as soon as it went on sale. great buy I would definitely get a 2nd one. only draw back is Iget 1.81TB out of the drive.

We have several classrooms for our Visual Communications students and purchased (1) of these WD 1TB Blue SSD drives about a month ago to upgrade an aging MacPro v4,1 (2009) teach station. This drive, coupled with a 32GB RAM upgrade (OWC 1066MHz UDIMM Kit) also purchased from B&H, has given new life to one of our older MacPro’s. The performance boost has been excellent and so far the drive has been rock solid reliable.

The SSD is an upgrade in size and speed to our HP 8460p laptop. Using the HP/Acronis clone software available on the HP support site it was simple and fast to copy the OS and programs, and installation was quick and easy. The computer boots much more quickly now and programs run noticeably faster.

I like to keep my OS on the primary c: drive and my apps and files on a separate physical volume. I use this SSD for hosting the Windows swap file and files currently worked on. This reduces wear on the NVMe c: drive. Installation took about 10 minutes, and the drive works like a charm. Important – out of the box the drive is not formatted for any OS or file system, so you will have to do the initializing or formatting yourself.

I bought this to increase my PS4 storage and upgrade it to a ssd. There is a definite speed increase with things. Obviously it’s not just the hard drive itself that makes the entire system faster, but this definitely helps. The drive is well packaged, it was easy to install I to my PS4, and so far it has worked perfectly. Couldn’t ask for much more, plus the always stellar B&H customer service and speedy shipping.

I had the drive for about 2-3weeks now and it does what it needs to do, it works reliably. I had issues with the windows based cloning software so I ended up downloading the Linux based bootable image to clone my drives. WD needs to figure out why their software doesn’t even start up after the requested reboot… Anyway, WD makes solid drives and gives you reliable warranty, just register your drive in time.
