Pros: I got this SSD HD to replace and improve (The orginal HD was a Western Digital 1 TB WD Blue SATA II 5200 RPM 8 MB Cache) the performance issues that this laptop had been having which was mainly due to the growing resource demands over the years from the newer Windows Operating Systems (Going from Windows 7 to Windows 10) and the newer requirements from the current software as well. Once I installed the new SSD the difference was literally night and day, the boot up from Bios to Operating System (Windows 10) was almost literally instantaneous (I would say 10 to 15 seconds), the response time on applications and any action in general was also instantaneous. Only recommendation I would make is to make sure the BIOS on your laptop/PC is current so there are no compatibility issues with the SSD. Overall I could not be happier, This will unfortunately will be that last upgrade that I will be able to do this Laptop (and my Wife’s Dell XPS laptop, they are both the same age and most specs are the same) since I have literally maxed out all up-gradable areas on this Laptop (See the system system specs below). I would highly recommend this SSD Hard Drive. Cons: Western Digital is a pretty good brand when it comes to HDDs/SDDs.

The drive was very easy to install and format. I am using it as a scratch drive for Adobe Premiere CC, and I love it. It is fast. I am already seeing performance gains in the editing process.

Super fast for what it is. Boot times are quick and games load so fast I can’t read the loading screen tips anymore.

Right product Right price, and it arrive before the promised delivery date, nothing short of a 1st Class operation. When companies ask their clients to submit a review, they know that they are nothing short of a 1st CLASS operation or they wouldn’t ask !!!!

Working great with my Atomos Ninja V!! do a google search for Atomos Master Caddy Micro Case and click on the Etsy link for a nice surprise if using it as a drive for the Ninja 😉

The only negative comment I have is that it took a couple of tries to initialize the drive using the Western Digital Acronis True Image cloning software. Once I cloned the original hard disk, this SSD went to work immediately The boot speed was phenomenal and programs open flawlessly. Best 1TB SSD I have used. I hope it is as reliable as my old HDD drives that I have used in the past.

Works exactly as intended. Fast, reliable. Great value compared to competitors.

Budget piece. Acronis support software is a nice bonus. Formatted quickly, took to the partitions without issue. Using a USB to SATA cable I cloned about 300 gb in 4.5 hours. Would be a 5 star, but the packaging was insufficient, the envelope was insufficient, and the internal packaging was a plastic casing. Not what I expected but it runs great nevertheless.

The WD Blue SSD has a great performance to price ratio however, it seems to have some firmware compatibilities with certain Mac EFI firmwares. This drive was ordered to be installed as a second drive in a MacBookPro 15 (mid 2012) but it seems to be incompatible with that Mac EFI firmware. When plugged into an external SATA/USB adapter it worked just fine. It also worked when installed internally on an old MacPro just not on the MacBookPro (The system refuses to erase/partition it throwing an error). I had a smaller Samsung SSD in that same slot which works just fine so, it is obvious that it is a strange incompatibility between the MacBookPro 9,1 EFI firmware only.

It is working great! It needed a SATA cable and 3.5 rails then formatted and is much faster. I couldn’t find it in stock anywhere else but B&H had it in stock and on sale.
