I use this drive as a backup device and it fits the bill for my needs. Preloaded software is convenient and easy to use. In short… just another reliable product from W-D!
Wilmer Bernier (verified owner) –
It’s awful stoped working after a few months haven’t even moved it or anything it’s just been sitting in the same spot and it stoped working. Don’t waste your money buying this!
Theron O’Connell (verified owner) –
works good
Ayden Franecki (verified owner) –
Very easy and fast using…
Oran Quigley (verified owner) –
The drive is highly functional. However, it is very slow in response. Good drive to store large quantities of items that do not need to be accessed very quickly.
Melany Yost (verified owner) –
Its a snap to set up. As a backup attached to my wifi router, it can be accessed by several computers; and it takes up so little space. No noise! I am using it mostly to backup large picture files as they accumulate, while in the process of converting hundreds of old slides to digital. It replaces two old desktop drives that were dying and very noisy. So far there are no complaints.
Henri Lueilwitz (verified owner) –
It’s fast and it’s portable. It makes a lot of clicking, which is expected for a non-SSD. I use it to backup my Mac.
Emmett Rohan (verified owner) –
So for – I have transferred a couple GBs of data and all is good.
Christ Metz (verified owner) –
Great compact size, nice design, and excellent storage capacity. No problems to date (I have owned many WD My Passport drives and all have performed well).
Lacey Legros (verified owner) –
Works fine so far for the price and arrived quickly.
Clark Ledner (verified owner) –
great little machine I can store lots and lots of patterns on it also tons of photos

I copied over a few GB of data before this thing stopped working. At first I could not copy anymore into it, and then it just went AWOL on the device list. Nothing I tried, using different utilities on a Mac and three different PCs could get it to be recognized. Now I have to send this thing back with a bunch of personal data on it somewhere.

I use these drives all the time, I carry files back and forth to my office and home, so that I can readily work at home. No cloud for me. These WD drives have been consistently working with rarely a miss for me, which dramatically differs from a WD drive I had (internal) some years back, which died at 3 months, no warning, no recovery, no nothing. These, thankfully, and knock on wood, are the total opposite of that.

Love This Portable hard drive from Western Digital , and B&H is always on point.
Thurman Klein (verified owner) –
Have a few of these, a true photographers helper. can save so much and very mobile, reliable, and easy to use, never had one fail.
Bria Ratke (verified owner) –
I have several of these. They are great for my hd footage.
Dagmar Kuhlman (verified owner) –
great product because of it’s size, it will however take quite a long time if you are backing up a lot of data: 2 TB took about 13 hours. I would certainly recommend it to anyone with a lot of photos and documents.
Raegan Hauck (verified owner) –
Works great for what I need.

I bought this to replace a Seagate 5TB drive that died, and thus far I’m very happy with the ease of use and performance of the WD 5TB My Passport external drive. I’m using it for Time Machine backups and it’s doing the job perfectly. It would be equally good for other more mobile uses. The fact that it is powered through the USB connection is a plus and I don’t have to deal with another external power supply.

I buy a pair of these every three months or so. I have about 30 of them. never had one fail. nice and small and most importantly dependable. always a good price at B&H and always packed well.
