Aside from its 4TB of storage capacity, it’s built with 256-bit AES hardware encryption to help ensure your files are protected, and features USB 3.2 Gen 1 connectivity for fast transfers. It and comes formatted NTFS for Windows 8.1 and 10, but may be reformatted for other operating systems, and connects to your host system using an included micro-USB to USB Type-A cable. Users can take advantage of WD’s Discovery and Backup software to help manage and back up their files as well.

I’ve had bad luck with *other brand* external drives, so I decided to try the WD 2 TB My Passport drive this time. I couldn’t be happier with it. It was quick to copy and load all the contents of my other external drive. It seems more rugged than the previous one (replacement for a replacement for a replacement), and I like the small size and light weight. I’ll likely buy another at some point. I also want to mention B&H’s excellent customer service.

The WD 4TB passport is a great option if you are looking for a external hard drive that is easy to use, fast and reliable. It works great on my HP computer and on my windows system. I mainly use it to back up photos and videos and some files. This is a great portable hard drive with tons of storage space. It allows me to save storage space on my other devices such as computer and phone. Would definitely recommend this product.

Works. Reformatted for a MAC. You can download the drive utilities for MAC if you want them on the WD site. I am just using it for Time Machine backups. Good price. Enjoying the red color as it helps me know which disk. Smaller than the last one I purchased and twice the capacity.

I was amazed at how small this thing is. 4x3x.5 about the same size as a cellphone and its 2tb. my only complaint was it is a 3.0 USB to USB micro which seems strange, also no power button, but for the price-storage ratio, you can’t beat it.
